Water, rivers and lakes.
Maybe I am missing a lore reason for it (did not really pay attention to it) but are lakes and rivers gonna be thing eventually?

They discussed it already, its because the voxel system makes it hard to implement. We might get it later down the road. Since the game plans to have caves and underground world. Can not just to the valheim water everywhere approach because it would flood those areas.

ahhh I missed that disscussion, thank you for the clarification. I am more then willing to wait. the devs deserve all the time since the base game is already amazing.

didn't realise the world was being expanded upon so massively, are we talking Skyrim Blackreach kinda underworld ?

Actually all water in the game is rotten an became highly toxic. Reading texts all over the world explains it.
Every time you found bright red substance it's basically water in the past.

There is that as well, but there is a post that has an article linked to the community manager also stating the challenges of adding it into the voxel system.

the EA map is currently 24x24 KM, to give example Skyrim was 28x28 KM. They plan to make the final world 64x64 KM. So yeah, quite a lot more to add to it.
