Give us control of private servers
First off great game, needs a lot of work still especially in combat, seems kinda dry and basic but for the love of god give us control of our private servers.

Crafting times are pretty long. 2 minutes for one metal plate, 5 minutes for charcoal, and those are just beginner crafts i can't imagine how much worse it's going to get for more complex things. Enemy spawns like wolves an such for bones are pretty low so being able to up drops or enemies would be nice as well.

Again, not for multiplayer official servers just private ones. Hate to name drop but pal world does it and it's amazing, because if i had to wait 8 hours for a gd egg to hatch i'd quit the game and refund so fast. The ability to control things about the server actually made the game more enjoyable and not a grind fest that would waste hours of my life i was never going to get back for a digital pet that i would abandon in a month or so.

The options to customize worlds may not be for everyone, but for people that want to enjoy the game without having to be super grindy and waste hours just crafting materials to craft other things with, hook us up!

Again this would effect only people that choose to play this way, and not everyone.

surprised you cant edit times in the server settings.

I'm the kind of player that dislikes timers for crafting things. If I need a couple pieces of padding for my last piece of armor, I have to wait for each step in the crafting tree to finish. Flax becomes linen becomes fabric becomes padding. Some of those are quick, some are longer. It gets worse for higher volumes. I understand that it's meant to make you go explore, but I already do.

The other part I'd like adjusted is the time it takes to mine things. Gathering a decent amount of ore can take quite a while. Stamina usage already slows this down, but it often takes several hits to get a single piece of ore in return. This means it can take a long time to mine enough for crafting and base building.

I mean, Palworld is built on top of the Ark Framework, and they had to make very little actual game to get their product out, and they've been working on that one for what, almost four years? When the majority of their development was assets, UI, and some minor structure changes. ♥♥♥♥, a lot of their animations are stock Ark rigging. I recognize Argentavis flight when I see it. I dunno, drawing the comparison there kinda undermines your argument. 3/4 of Palworld was already done for them when they licensed the framework, and they spent just under four years doing a really unimpressive amount of work.

That said, yes, a config file is very much needed. Though I get that this is a custom engine and that they need to build all of those hooks in: it's not particularly hard to do so.

To my opnion they will not give us control or even consider that until the game is finished and that is a long road to go.

♥♥♥♥ as long as they give it to us eventually i'll be happy but i'm probably going to stop playing until then cause my god the solo grind is terrible. It's literally that and the combat system that needs adjusted and maybe a mount added to cross the map faster if it's not already in game i'm only so far into the game.

i strongly against this, this is just like cheat codes, and it will rune the game like pal world and no man sky with customize server/game settings

If you're staring at crafting stations, waiting for them to make stuff, you're doing it wrong. Dump in tons of materials, and then _go do something else_.

Also bones are INCREDIBLY common. I have chests stuffed full of them. There are thousands of skeletons all over the map. Smashy smashy, picky picky. And the skeletons respawn when areas reset. It's literally an neverending resource.

For you. But... easy solution - dont use it.
For me it ruins the game slow and steady to keep hitting miasma stuff for hours to get stuff or wait 2h to smelt all ore or teleport back 10 times to repair my tools while mining copper at the speed of an 200year old turtle.

The Game feels nice, I love exploring and I think the building system is maybe the best we have in this kind of games. But the crafting and farming rates are absurd. Might be fine with 6+ people but Solo?

I played Ark for hundreds of hours Solo and I love that I can adjust the rates of farming, hatching and stuff. It is stupid to wait for 8h to hatch a Dino for single player's, but I understand why it is needed to balance it for PvP. But Enshrouded Solo is not PvP.

And as said - if you dont want to adjust the rates, dont adjust them. While I like to adjust them, so let me do it. Same goes for cheatcodes... if there are some in a Game, dont use them. Easy as that. Its Single Player... no one get hurts if someone cheats in Single Player, besides from the player that does it and it might ruin the game for this one player. But than - start over and dont cheat again... its so easy.

It seems you can play your single player game online so not sure how that's going to work

That's easy, make a solo only mode that can't go online.

If i can go do a quest and be back before any decent amount of material is made, it's a bad system.

No one said you had to play like that, some people don't want hours added to the game just for crafting times. If you want to wait 8 hours for an egg that's your business. I would quit instantly if i saw an 8 hour timer and there was no way to adjust it and would have never have bought palworld. If you were in charge you'd cost them a lot of money.

It's almost like palworld is smart and knows not everyone enjoys playing games the same way and some are willing to waste more time than others are.

Agreed, this should really be a no brainer. More options = more appeal = more sales. The idea that giving players and server ops more agency would "ruin" anything is just ridiculous.
Damocles Feb 11, 2024 @ 4:51pm
Could be that they want to restrict custom setting-changes for now, when still balancing the game. And server options being a thing later at release.

Its easier to develop and listen to feedback if the game is not split into many custom setting variations.
Grimbor Feb 11, 2024 @ 5:27pm
People would be shocked how many of us want to explore the world like a Hercules type demi-god once past an initial newbie point, where most challenges are plowed through without tank builds resorting to kiting and dodging while resource gathering and building are easy.
