I have both. Enshrouded is a more realistic, organic world (within the tropes that the game presents), while Palworld is a more cartoony world, with Pals wandering around almost everywhere, and the actual towns being few and tiny. Both games reward creative exploration, but in different ways.

Enshrouded has a more coherent, functional base-building system that scales hugely and gives the flexibility to make unique structures; Palworld's base-building is kinda limited, and things don't always connect the way that it seems they should.

Enshrouded has a customizable skill tree; Palworld doesn't.

You get more things to craft in Palworld by leveling up; in Enshrouded, you have to go out and find new materials or new crafting people to unlock new crafting recipes.

In Palworld, you're going to be responsible for your own deaths more often than being killed by monsters; in Enshrouded, you can get yourself killed, but it's more likely to be the monsters.

Both games have limited longevity, for different reasons.

Both games are $30, so you can get both for less than the price of a Bethesda, EA, or Ubisoft game!

I can't stand the art style in Palworld. Doesn't matter how great the game might be.

They are both very different. I would recommend Palworld. You can play Palworld in either multi or solo player. For enshrouded you can as well, but if you are solo there will be challenges that are extremely difficult if you're solo. I like to relax and have fun when I play a game, but for solo on Enshrouded you will need to be focused, watch a few YouTube videos for help, etc. Also they really should add that one of the challenges in Enshrouded is that your character is either half blind or has severe cataracts. When going from a cave to the sunlight its like your a vampire getting hit by the sun for the first time, and when in the shroud its like walking through that fog that fell over London in the 80's where you couldn't even see your hand outstretched in front of you. The building looks amazing when complete, but watch a video of someone building from scratch, it would be easier to build a house in real life than in Enshrouded.
In Palword, its simple and fun. You can adjust your settings to make it how you like as well. You can make things incredibly simple, or incredibly difficult. You're free to play solo or multiplayer and there is no penalty for choosing either one, unlike Enshrouded where if you play solo your not going to have fun.
However I know some people live for the challenge, perhaps if that is you then you may like Enshrouded.

They are two completely different games but as some sort of guideline:

If you want extensive base-building, darker atmosphere and a bit more focus on combat get this game. (you can even build your own caves and change the landscape - you cant do that in palworld, also building is way more advanced)

If you want to capture creatres and collect them in a more upbeat game with humor and rather simple base-building - get palworld.

A big difference are raids, Enshrouded at the moment has no base raids and its unknown if they are planned as far as i know.

Both games are nice but they are completely different. Just buy one now and the other one later - both games offer countless hours of gameplay so you cant really play them the same time either.

Enshrouded hands down!
Palworld is a 81/100
Enshrouded is a 89/100
in my opinion.

Pal world base building assets look painfully generic (which the game as whole does) and like a huge after thought. Enshrouded lighting system alone blows PW lighting out of the water. I looked for interesting PW bases people were creating on Youtube, and they all look flat and juxtaposed in artstyle. Enshrouded world looks handcrafted and less empty on macro scale compared anything that PW has to offer.

I wouldnt be surprised if PW pulls the wool over peoples eyes in the future.

If you like pets fighting and working for you, go Palworld.
If you like building and RPG elements that enables different fight styles, go Enshrouded.

I've played both and like palworld... but prefer enshrouded.
Palworld feels soulless at time, with vast empty-feeling maps as well as having copied multiple other games (they didn't come up with anything), like Conan, Pokemon and Ark, amongst other games.

Enshrouded feels much better and feels original, with an interesting story, better building and resource gathering and more engaging combat. Leveling and progression also feels better in Enshrouded. Enshrouded also just looks better and the controls feel great too. It isn't perfect by any means, but it is impressive for an EA title that just released.

Palworld is also kind of a meme game, which is why it is so popular (a lot thanks to streamers, because it is basically streamer slop, easy to make content due to how much of a buggy meme the game is).

Don't get me wrong, palworld can be a great game, but it currently isn't and is only liked because modern pokemon games are mostly garbage and because "slavery" (play conan exiles or Rimworld for better slavery lol)

URE5 is a very accessible AAA looking content generator, you can get make a functional game with very basic knowledge of programming, using blueprints. There's nothing wrong with that, it's awesome, if you are passionate to make games, on the other hand it's also easier for people that just want to make money with minimal effort.

As soon as I dropped into Palworld it was very apparent that everything was an uninspired shallow mess mainly thrown together to make youtube videos and marketing content to get those launch sales numbers up and that's about it.

Enshrouded seems basic and boring while palworld gives you things to do while being fun and entertaining.
Would rather just play valheim since its pretty much the same instead of picking this game tbh but that's just my opinion

I bought Palworld first and loved it then grabbed Enshrouded on day one since it's been on my wishlist for quite some time and never went back to Palworld. Love the exploring, building, and crafting of this game more than gathering Pals all day.

I purchased Palworld while waiting for Enshrouded to drop. I have to say, I actually really enjoyed it.. it was fun in its own carefree, don't take too serious way and my kids had a blast watching me play it. I can't knock anyone for playing it, everyone has their own tastes. It does need some tweaking, for instance I wasn't too much of a fan of the building mechanics but I did enjoy the occasional raid that hit my base.

Now that i have moved on to Enshrouded, I purchased Palworld for my kids and they are getting good mileage from it.

Enshrouded.. I have already beat it.. I have 3 head trophies (normal, bronze and iron) of each boss in my base. The majority of achievements are done, now I just need to track down the occasional lore piece. I had a blast playing Enshrouded and still do... the building mechanics, once you get the hang of it, are probably second to none. You can pretty much create anything your heart desires with it. Right now, I am in the process of rebuilding all of the towns on my map lol

Play what you enjoy, they both have merits. For me personally, Enshrouded is a great game with a lot of potential (a lot of the map is blocked behind an early access barrier). It does have some kinks, but if you are a builder, it has a ton going for it:
1. Build a hobbit style home - check
2. Build a castle, design and carve out your very own dungeon - check
3. Rebuild any castle, inns, towns, towers or bridges you find - check
