will there be an option later to add water to make lakes or rivers?

Nope devs them self already stated that water is to hard to be implemented with the type of voxel based engine they use.
Mabe some decos like fountains and little ponds tho.

There is water. If you look at the map, the shroud has consumed all the lakes and stuff.

tbh given how resource heavy water can be, its understandable

I'd just settle for easier access to water in the early days of play. You don't get the well build-able until many hours into the game and the grind for water is rather harsh right now. Being able to terraform some water into the base would be a cool feature, but as previously stated the engine doesn't handle it very well.

While I would love to see some expansive water (rivers, lakes, oceans) like what is seen in Valheim and Icarus. I do understand the problems with a fluid in a voxel based game, it can be overcome but it is exceedingly hard to accomplish. As a stopgap I would be ok with sources of water where you dont actually have to see the water like a wind powered water pump (think the old windmill style pumps) so that we can do things like have irrigation / interior plumbing. This gives us greater access to water without the issues of fluid vs voxel based world.

In the first ruins near the start is a well in iron tier (15 water storage). even with the first glider you're able to get there fast, which should help alot until you're able to build your first well.

The lore of Enshrouded is: All the shroud mist consumed every water, all lakes and rivers. So it wouldn't fit to the lore/story of the game. Independend of the difficulty with the voxel engine.
