Elder Helmet

Some gold chests have a higher rate at spawning specific clothing it would seem. I setup a home base near each of them and was able to farm the specifc sets up np.

I kept getting that helmet and I destroyed them all but the one i'm using out of frustration, I thought it was a common drop because i'm not getting any other of that series ;(

Here's how I got mine... 3 times:

The sun temple the furtherst to the south west has an easily accessible (and thus farmable) gold chest. Just build on the cliffs up top and fly down to the treasure room from the open air stair ways that lead right to the chest room.

Got 3 from that damn chest. Kept looting it, quickly going to map and pressing R (just to be sure it saves) and then exiting to main menu and loading back in. Farmed that chest a lot. Super easy and takes like half a minute for each run counting the time it takes me to exit to menu and load back in.
Also got legendary noble sword, amongst other such drops. Quite a few duds though

o7 Happy farming

PS: the vases there drop tin (love me some bronze) and alchemical base, amongst other things. You can also quickly farm them with a few strategically placed fireballs

that sun temple you're talking about, just to clarify for those that might read this in the future (if they haven;t already watched the 100s of YT videos on this exploit)..

there are 2 silver chests that contain lvl 25 items. there is also a gold chest, but that only ever contains the best glider in the game (once you get it the first time, you unlock the recipe, but, WHY craft it?).

also, if you choose to farm those chests, you can also farm sparks, on the lowest level is a flame altar that gives 4x sparks

If it's the same temple we're talking about, farming the silver chests requires clearing the puzzles beforehand as well as adding a lot of running around, which is why I only mentioned the gold chest. The spark is on the way to the gold chest if you want (like a <10 second detour), plus also desert temple blocks if you want them, but the sparks only have so many uses. Stopped farming them after I had 2 full stacks (didn't even need them, just a loot goblin)
Didn't know there were videos about this one! I mean, the gold chest is fully available without even clearing the "puzzles", so makes sense. First time I found it I got the gold chest before clearing the temple ;)

Yeah, south west in the kindlewastes. Furthest temple to the south west (comparatively to the other temples).

That's where I kept getting that lousy damn helmet again and again that the poster here wants (leads me to believe it doesn't drop many other different pieces, but I DO have bad RNG rolls when it comes to loot in every single game I play). I only loot the gold chest and got a few legendaries. Also got one of the lvl 25 boots (forget the name, the one with GREAT stamina regen. So good it seperates the stat into two instead of just adding them up into one haha, I think +4 and +3 stamina regen?).
I thought it would be the least RNG based way to get what he wanted since it seems, based on my experience (again, ♥♥♥♥ luck with RNG, so take it with a grain of salt), that that gold chest drops the elder helmet a lot.

I eventually managed to get everything farming that single chest south of the kindlewastes spire. Just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG; now I got all achievements and have nothing left to do on this game now. I mined some obsidian and banked them. Time to go back to sleep and wait for patch. Valheim all over again.

Great, glad for you, I totally don't envy your less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG and full sets! I'll just be content with my infinite duplicates of a few armor pieces here and there ;)

Sad yet likely true. Why bother as much with development when you probably already sold your game to the majority of people that would buy it.
