I do agree with one thing, most enemies are rather easy. There are some enemies that you face that are way harder to deal with then the rest. As example early on those bugs that swarm you suddenly, enemies that dash you and start to hit you in a flurry of attacks.
That Dragon is one of them.
Not only does it force you to play fair and square in his little arena, which no boss did so far, it also has a multitude of things he does. While I find he is still rather tame compared to what other games throw at you, it is quite the difficulty spike.
The easiest way to deal with him is use a bow, shoot poison arrows at him, be ready for the small bugs he spawns, aim for the head and... try to get a pillar between him and you because he has a attack where he jumps towards you.
But I can fully understand you, if you say you're too old and don't have the reflexes for that. After all Enshrouded looks like the typical builder game on first look, while some people complain the combat is "too easy" I find the main goal in Enshrouded is building and exploring. For a combat focus there are just not enough enemies present.
I think what would be great is if there was a difficulty slider, that makes the whole game more accessible for the Builder crowd while adding a higher difficulty for normal, younger players and a hardcore for the people that want to know pain.
Just buff with the potions and scrolls you've acquired at by this time.
I'm sorry you're having such trouble. :(
Yeah, the first time I fought him, he spanked me hard. I was mad. Then I realized how unprepared for the battle I was, for back at base I had chests full of resources that could help me beat him.
So, I gathered these items and went back. Before jumping in, I ate two meats for stamina and some mushrooms since I was an Int/Wand build. I made sure I had tons of health. I brought multiple healing potions (I have tons), used a Fell Flask, quaffed another damage potion and read a Flame Prayer scroll. I also made sure my hot bar was properly configured for the fight so to minimize any fussing with the inventory.
I jumped in, and it wasn't even that hard. I was so buffed up, that his shots really didn't hurt that bad. The difference was night and day. The first fight, one of his hits took more than half my health, now they only took an eighth. The only issue was my shots were not very damaging. They chipped away at his health, so I focused on staying out of harm's way much as possible so I could wear him down. Then I discovered I could get on top of him and the rest was history.
This is how this 60 year old disabled vet with a partially paralyzed left hand due to ALS beat this boss. It can be done, even for those like us. Preparation is the key.
I read about this we mod ...OMG life saver. I can finally explore and turn off some aspects. I am not going to make everything easy like infinite health and stuff but just some help for some parts of the game will be awesome.
I am an older player as well and got squashed by this boss several times before I decided to re-spec my character just for this fight. Very sad to have to do that and it shows that the game is not quite balanced when it comes to "classes" regardless of what a lot of players are saying.
I went the mage route with staff and acid bite as a spell and the boss went down so fast that it was almost anti-climatic and disappointing to some extent.
When he hits you, drink a potion and you are back to full health.
He never chain hits. Even when he stuns you with the belly flop, you have time to wake up and drink a potion before he hits you again.
That's all there is to it. And ya, stand between his legs and smack his foot. The only attack that will hit you is the belly flop.
Game is already pretty )*#$ing boring.. so WeMod it up man.. I do. Makes running long distances across bland lifeless terrain and empty ruined buildings at least bearable.. or should I say slightly less soul crushingly boring..
Playing a wizard is pretty much instant win for every encounter because none of the bosses actually has a ranged attack worth a crap. lol.

This is by far, the best advice I've seen in this whole thread. Hands down.
I did the same thing too. I went in unprepared, got crushed. Then I buffed up with a fell flask, a +4 minute shroud potion, mysterious flask for +damage, and had 3 stacks of healing potions on my hotbar. I didn't even know about shooting it in the mouth, and stunning it.
Only other thing I could add was that I remapped the dodgeroll to to the thumb button on my mouse, and dodge rolled (actually blinked, with the magic skill) all over the arena.
Don't take this as me "being defensive", please. I'm 62 years old with arthritis in both hands, so it's very difficult for me to spam-click and dodge, roll, get into position to shoot the Wyvern in the mouth, etc... and tbh, I'm not a hardcore gamer, and kinda suck in combat.
With all that said, the FIRST time I tried to take on this beast (I tried multiple times after respawning), I absolutely got my butt handed to me on a platter. So I knew I was doing something wrong. I leveled up some more (to level 20), got better gear, respec'd into Warrior with a little in Tank and tried again.
It was a mighty battle! Basically I just kept under his belly as much as possible and just kept slashing the crap out of him... for a good 5-6 minutes, watching his health go down and having to use health potions myself... and then... he died. I have NEVER felt such a fantastic sense of personal SOLO accomplishment in a game (because tbh, in most games I find a way to cheese out or get help). I was so happy there wasn't a way to "cheese" my way through this, or find some "cheat" online to make it simple. It was worth the challenge, in my opinion. Again, I'm not blindly defending the game or the Devs... I'm just saying, from my perspective, the sense of accomplishment when I finally killed that big blue bastid made me feel really good. I do sympathize with the OP, who called himself a "grumpy old man" - as a grumpy old woman, I get it. My hands STILL hurt, and it's been a good 14 hours or so since I finally killed that monster. I don't like to be a person that says, "well gee... **I** did it", so you should be able to also. But I'm also not one to say that Boss mobs like this should be nerfed just because **I** (with arthritic hands) can't kill it.
WeMod is like a cheat trainer, its a program you install on your PC, has a paid and free option and you can use all the cheats in the free you just have to hit the keyboard keys to turn them on or off instead of turning them on or off directly from the WeMod menu like the paid version allows. It then allows you to find cheats for various games without the need to use cheat engine etc. It has unlimited HP cheat you can use to kill the wyvern boss in the castle and even has a toggle so shroud cant kill you so you can walk even on the red ocean crap.
Some people will be all grr arghh bad bad don't cheat but hey if you old, have slow reflexes and you only options are quit the game and don't get to enjoy it period anymore or cheat for this one boss fight...then cheat mate especially if that the only time you think you will need to cheat.
Some of the younger whipper snappers out there just wont understand you might like to continue enjoy gaming even if you have to cheat sometimes due to being limited physically.
Personally I didn't have that much trouble with the castle boss that said I go to the gym and I am not 65 years old.
