Trying again. Red Shroud immunity. Cheat code, whatever
I posted a couple of days ago about ways to bypass the Castle Beast. Helpful people had many suggestions how to kill him. In the end I just built stairs to the Nomad Lands and have been leveling and gearing since. I'm up to L 18. I am maxxed out on gear, etc as all the NPC quests lead into red shroud. I can't go into red shroud without killing castle beast. I cannot kill castle beast without better gear. I've explored everywhere that can be reached without red shroud or cheese stairs.

I know other people have killed the Castle Beast. But I have tried shooting him in the mouth when he's getting ready to barf. I still die every time without a serious dent. I've tried standing under his legs and hacking away. I still die every time without a serious dent. I've tried just running around and not dying at all, using all my attention and dodges just not dying and I still die every time, in short order. His jump attack takes half my hit points and I cannot dodge it. My reflexes simply are not there. I tried digging out the fungus on the west wall so I could retreat up the wall, but his attacks still hit up there and I die in no time. If I duck off the wall he resets.

I have to believe there was a pretty elite group of playtesters for that boss fight to make it into the game in its current form. It's not correct.

The game is now over for me unless I can immunity to red shroud. I don't care how. The reason this is so frustrating is I love so much about this game, but this hard gate on an impossible boss is, to me, a terminal flaw in game balance. I'm sure the next 2/5ths of the game are awesome but if I can't use them, they get a zero on the final grade.

I've done my due diligence. I've tried fighting him dozens of times. At my level and gear it should not be this hard. I need a bypass. I don't care how. I appreciate you are all going to tell me how you fought him successfully, and that's great for you. But if it includes getting in the ring and dodging his attacks and doing enough to kill him before he kills me, I've heard. I've tried it. I am too old and slow by far to pull it off. I get 20% damage on him at best. Not even close enough to want to keep trying.

I need a solution to red shroud toxicity other than fighting the thing. Any solution. I know the devs read these forums sometimes. Send me a cheat code privately or mail me a dragon head or whatever. I do not care how I get immunity to red shroud. I'd be fine just erasing the shroud completely actually. Not a fan. Don't like it one bit. But it's the name of the game so I won't hold my breath.

But I need a solution. Suggestions have been great and appreciated, but sadly, I could not turn them into solutions.

Thanks in advance from a cranky old man.

Yeah you need the drake head to level the flame, i killed the drake at level 7 with my warrior alt barely touched me. But I was a mage with 2 other friends at the time which took a bit longer since we didn't have the 25 gear at the time.

Why you don't consider this as an opportunity to learn more about crafting and the game as a whole instead of just "Oh, it doesn't let me pass. Therefore the game sucks and is terrible"?

I have the best gear that can be crafted without going into the redshroud for the next NPC appliance. I have a tricked out L25 sword and bow, all upgraded and an OP wand even though I'm a fighter build. I have the best food I can cook without further upgrades.

I'm not the only person having these game balance issues. I admit I suck at fast twitch games. But I'm not alone.

Have you tried resetting talent points and trying a different build?

Personally I also had trouble with this boss, went back and geared up some more like you and then respecced.

I personally went for the healer/battlemage/wizard route, and just ran away whenever my health was low to heal up again and then wanded him to death in a slow attrition.

Gift, der Drache verträgt kein Gift . Nach 2 Schüssen fällt er um.

A slow attrition is not an option. He kills me in under a minute even if all i do is try to dodge. I'm not timing my fights, but I'd be surprised if I've last 30 seconds so far.

Out of curiosity...have you gone into options and changed the camera distance and FOV so you can see more/pull out farther from your character? I think the default is very close. With the camera much further back and the FOV much wider I think it would be a lot easier to just stay away from the drake....dash if he looks like he is about to jump at you.....shoot him in the mouth when he starts to power up his breath...shoot at him (wand or bow) while he is stunned and keep track of the bugs that occasionally spawn.

Just spray him with acid bite if you are having that much trouble...

Acid bite is not available at the stage of the game you first have to fight him.

If you did manage to find some though, yes, use it. but It's not readily available.

thats what the healer tree is for, if you go full mage build and stack int, you can heal to full very quickly.

so as long as he doesn't two shot you in under 10 seconds, then you just have to slowly burn him down as you heal up after every one of his attacks.

if you want another cheese route go to a public server and use the unlocked travel. Farm good gear on public server to bring to your server. You can farm resources or gear the gear is not lvl locked from chest.

run in circles to avoid the bad, shoot him in the mouth when he roars, beat on him for 10 sec. Repeat.

Skill issue.

THIS is the solution. My castle beast is dead. My altar is upgraded. I have red shroud immunity. You are as brilliant as you are good looking. A scholar and sage of unequaled wisdom and a font of arcane knowledge worthy of Delphi itself. I am awarding you many steam points in gratitude.

Do you mean the Wyvern? If so, shoot him in the mouth when he does the beetle summon thing, this stuns him... then go ham on him with whatever you got. Roll away from any other time he goes to do anything...
