Death bag left on ledge where if I drop to it I immediately die

[Almost Last Place]

While walking to the first quest dungeon in the shroud I went over a ledge that is at I would say a 15 degree cliff straight down. Let's pretend the period in the below diagram is my death bag with all my nice items:

Any tips on how to get this death bag? is it lost forever? The moment I go over the ledge and onto the "/" I slide down to my death.

Happend to me to. And I had to use the pickaxe to get to the spot.

Happened too often to me and friend, once in the shroud. about half a meter above the red killing shroud. Way down from the cliff. That was a funny time digging down there.
