Fall damage (feels increased) Edit- Interacting with Terrain itself feels bad.
Suddenly dying to it all the time wasn't before.

Ease up on the slip and fall deaths please the map is super slippery and it's not fun getting yeeted a million voxels for one wrong step. I'm not going to memorize every slip spot it's not a fun mechanic.

It hasn't changed, fall damage has always been included.

Fall damage has existed since the day your character loads into the game at level 1, not a case of "suddenly".

I do agree that some flat spots on the map are suprisingly "slippery" and can lead to unfair deaths.

I never said it didn't but nice comprehension skills.

In general the terrain sucks to interact with. Terraforming is slow and takes so much stamina and tool durability that in all places it's faster to just place a flame alter and build a scaffold

It's literally not fun interacting with the terrain itself in any matter while actually adventuring to the point that I'm questioning the point in having a way to interact with the terrain at all.

It's just tedious and never makes the experience more fun it feels like I'm going out of my way to do it just because I can but it's never faster or more fun then literally going around.

This needs to be better I shouldn't be fighting traction trying to dig my own stairways or paths through stuff and I shouldn't be sliding for long distances off of one slippery voxel. It's just not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun.

No in general, fall damage is lame. I should not be able to trip and die while running on slightly uneven ground in a video game. It is actually really stupid and it is ruining the game for me. Anymore, when people say a game is (Souls Like) it usually just means it will be unoriginal and will be filled with stupid mechanics like rats that one shot you and terrain that randomly brakes your ankle TO DEATH. Yawn!!! Going back to Palworld.

This game is not a souls like and fall dmg in general is not an issue as you can cancel it at will any time after the first idk 2h by getting the glider.

Lots of games have fall damage, not only souls, gothic killed that way too. And this game has a glider, i died once from fall damage because i suck and i panicked hehehe.
What are you guys talking about the terrain? I build i freaking stair at the side of a mountain to go to the desert area before i killed the boss of the first area, and the game allow it, no invisible walls anywhere.

To reiterate I don't care that there is fall damage, at the time of the post it felt like the amount had increased. Along with a general frustration at the games jank geography making you slip and "walk" on your own or go zipping off in weird directions.

People aren't ignorant just because they dislike something.
Ballerhans Feb 16, 2024 @ 7:31am
Get yourself the 1st basic glider and fall damage is not an issue anymore. As long as the glider is applied and ...hmmm...you have a few stamina points...:steamhappy: you can smash like an F-16 fighter jet into everything without taking any damage at all.

it seems like it,
the fall damage is ridiculous,
drop 6ft - break ankles
fall 12ft - insta death
ghost glider @ mach 1 into the ground - 0 damage... :steammocking:

I was gliding down from a spire yesterday and when I got close to the ground I clipped the top of a tree and it resulted in an insta-death. Dead before I even hit the ground. Funny part is that my dropped loot spawned at the top of the tree so I couldn't reach it. even chopped the tree down hoping it would fall to the ground but of course it didn't

you can get to most places w/o "cheating" by digging and scaffolding....
use jump double jump use glider &hook

I pointed to having to flame alter and scaffold as a flaw not a feature in the post you quoted.

Yes I got double jump when I had the points for it, yes I use the tools available to me.

My opinion is still that interacting with the terrain is tedious and it shouldn't be.
My opinion is still that the terrain is too slippery in places and that it shouldn't be.

I think (edit-excessive)fall deaths are a symptom of those problems and I can't be certain if any adjustments were made to fall damage even if that was what made me post initially.
