Metal scaps drop issue
Metal scraps are mostly from enemies. But the game have so few enemies, and i am constant in need of these.
Either the enemies should drop more of them, or the enemy spawn should be increased.
The best would be that they drop more.
Because of your items do not last long fighting more enemies would just make the game a slug.
I think the drop of metal scraps should be doubled.

There are tons of enemies that drop scraps. You can also hit metal vases in tower puzzles for scraps and metal plates. You havent played much it you are not running through camps with those guys that drop them.

You're just starting out, I have an entire large chest filled with metal scraps. Also, don't use metal just willy nilly when starting out. Hang on to it only if you absolutely need to make something. I can say there isn't much use for it outside of nails anymore for me.

The enemy type that drops it is present in every non-shroud settlement. They also drop more with higher level. Just following the main quests from the crafters will have you encounter several respawning locations full of these guys.

Additionally, pickaxing the sleep chambers is 3 metal per pod. So make use of that default Cinder Vault fast travel, and dismantle the sleep chamber in there. Then fast travel to the ancient spire and glide down to the blacksmith's sleep chamber and do the same there. Both of these are within easy distance of a default fast travel if you need an injection of metal scraps.

i also noticed that early game you really are in need of metal scraps, but the more i played, the less i needed them.

you only ever need to craft equipment once, and you can repair your stuff for free. you can craft decorative objects for the rested buff, but you only ever need one of those, everything else is just for vanity.
lockpicks aren't used too often and you can also find them in the world, and when more lockpicks are needed in an area, usually the enemies there also drop a lot of metal scrap.

you realy ever need metal scrap for the rising fighter armour once, and maybe for metal building blocks if you are a big builder. you usually tend to simply find better weapons and gear in chests too, and those also don't need material to repair.

also, sometimes you can find repair anvils in enemy camps, allowing you to fix your gear on the go.

so just keep at it and eventually, just by the nature of the game, you'll be swimming in metal scraps just like the rest of us^^

I usually start my Enshrouded play session with a quick teleport to the Cinder Vault to bash all the starting pods. Nets 30 metal scrap. Then a quick hop down the hill to the well for some water. Keep running down hill, glide across to the little fort full of metal scraps and another well, then teleport home to get ready for my next adventure. It helps to have the upgraded pick, those stone tools take a little whacking to work.
