Problem with a particular enemy
In some bandit camps and caves I'm encountering these berserker type enemies with green tinged cleavers. In short: they feel over-tuned. Once I enter their attack range they can attack faster than I can sprint away. If I parry them I still take full damage from the attack and get staggered, so by the time I'm recovered they are as well. On top of that they don't take stun damage. They deal incredibly high damage for their assigned level, attack way faster than any other enemy in the game and cannot be effectively parried. The best that can be done in my experience is to pick away at them with arrows from a spot they can't reach, meaning melee builds are useless against them.

Anyone else find an effective way to deal with these guys besides exploiting the limited pathing AI?

Dodge as soon they're about to attack you and shoot as fast as you can from what i gathered with them also they're highly resistant to magic dmg

Parry if your taking damage you either don't have the right timing or you need to upgrade your sheild/ward to a higher level one.

I'm a squish mage that they can kill in just a few hits so I've learned to parry them and run away if I mess up my parry

If you parry at the right time it stuns them for a couple of seconds and you can get some hits in or run to give you some space.

particle parry on lesser guys until you learn the timing window.

If you still cant get the parry down the other option and the one I used to do all the time is roll dodge, then double jump, glide to get distance then RUN to make space. get my stam back do a few quick hits and repeat for 37.8 hours until they are dead.

Yeah they are damn nasty, especially if you try to melee them XD
The way I dealt with them is to avoid them if I can, but if you need to fight them then do it with range weapons like bows or wands, also it helps a lot having unlocked double jump :)
I fear them more than any boss or other enemies, they are so insanely fast and hit so hard that they quite often manage to kill me in a couple of seconds if I get near them lol

You can still kite them (with ranged or wands), you just have to move farther away and get less hits per kite.

You can also ignore the parry mechanic and just block until their combo is over get in a quick hit, hop/sprint back, re-block and repeat.

Double jump would be ideal for staying away from them, but you can do it without double jump as jumping itself does not expend stamina like dodging does.

they are the only enemy thats WELL TUNED currently. not overtuned. the rest is too slow and too easy compared. sadly killing them is never worth it and you can just run past em. they drop nothing of value like most enemies.

Very rarely they can drop weapons i've noticed but yeah being normal mobs makes them alot less of a chance

Watch for them to telegraph.

It really works, I parry with shields or two handed and it works everytime. As soon as they pull back to swing parry and it will stun them long enough for one hit. Rinse and repeat.

I just learned the right timing to parry and almost all good. Those green berserker enemy type is very awesome and fun to fight ! But sometimes, yeah, you parry and he has concussion, but you're still got the damage. That's strange.

I should have specified more. I do get a successful parry, they get staggered. Then the attack still somehow does full damage to me and I get staggered as well. On top of that they don't take any stun damage from the parry. However I hadn't considered that the parry strength stat would effect anything besides how much stun damage the parry does.

get hp regen and stack con and block alot. they are a bit overtuned for sure. hard to kill and annoying cuz its not like the moveset is alot it just does the one attack sequence and a occasional block...
i found it much easier to get some height away from them and theyd usually freeze up below me and id pick em off very slowly with wands or bows wands were easier cuz tab target

As a mage/battlemage; they are my doom. I 100% have to exploit the AI

Pure mage here, I use blink and shroud damage (helix wand) and staff acid if there are adds., they are susceptible to shroud damage.

Combat does not yet seem well balanced, but don't count on it. The wind-ups and combos of some enemies make attacking them hard, they just beeline to you and whack, but jump on a building and they are sitting ducks.

casting ice bolt you can slow their walk speed and fk em up by back stepping
