Better Tools

Hello all i was wondering , to get better tools do i just need to follow the Blacksmith line ? or how ? im still using Scrappy Axe and pickaxe , please help if possible ?

Blacksmith unlock the stone tools and than the copper tools ;)

In general if you want better "tech" it's a mixture of following the questline for the corresponding NPC while continually progressing your Flame Altar level and access to the next tier of resources/components.
