Existing builds are safe from the reset due to the altar zone so again its an assumption by me but that would probably take some of the sting out of map changes.
However it does look like the map will simply be getting expanded north with only a few spots standing out as having quirky terrain. There's one of the green fungal caves that has a rock pillar model which isn't quite rooting into the ground as it's just a wee bit shorter than needed.
On their FAQ it says the following but this only addresses the demo saves
....
17) Can I use my old saves from the demo or beta builds of the game?
As we made many improvements to our save system throughout development, older saves from the Alpha, Beta and Demo versions are incompatible with the Early Access version of Enshrouded.
During Early Access, wipes are to be expected with major updates. If you don't like that, then wait until games are released before purchasing.

About Server Wipes & Character Resets...
... On the topic of "wipes", we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However being early access and being that a LOT will change and be added to the game over time, we can't guarantee that there might not be a major update that requires old saves to break.
Also being that so much is changing, there is always the chance that an update might break old saves, so I recommend backing up saves you really care about if this would be something that is the end of the world for you as a player.
But yeah, we're not planning on intentionally doing this, but we also can't guarantee it will "never happen" either, since there's a lot of unknown variables in the future.
