Taming?
Is there any kind of pet or taming in this game? i would assume with a class called beast master there would be but haven't seen anything definitive.

Not exactly, but if you go up the skill tree you first get the ability to not be attacked by wildlife, then later the wildlife attacks whatever is attacking you. There is also a Bear people version that you can get as well for both the non-aggression as well as attacking things that attack you.

Closest you will get is when you put two nodes into the Wild Animal or Vulkan parts of Beastmaster you can walk up close (interaction range) and set them to "Start Guarding". They will loosely follow you around and attack what attacks you.

It doesn't work as well as you might expect most pets to in typical action games.

It doesn't work. The Beastmaster Skill where they attack anyone attacking you if they're within 50 metres - I tried it out but they don't alert. Also "Start Guarding" - the sabretooth just stood around with its back to the fight. So much for that. Please fix, devs.

That´s not exactly how it works. The description of the perk is unfortunately quite misleading. So you actually have to go to an animal and order it to protect you and then it will follow you and attack anything that attacks you.

Its fun to watch those highland cats tear apart everything that attacks you, although sometimes they just stand there doing nothing. They follow the enemy though, once the combat is over and you move on they stay there doing what animals do.

The flying creatures in the Kindlewastes are even better. There are two types of them, the ones that live outside and inside the shroud and both will come to your aid.
