What needs nerfing is the mages... we have another game like Elden Ring where magic is totally OP and the melee fighters ( who take more risk and have to be close ) get again the short stick. They do bad damage compared to MAGIC , while also having no good skills to get closer to flying enemies, they have to use a bow or magic.

ALSO dont have all big bosses being flying enemies.. wtf is that??

At the same time a mage just spams their wand or staff and boom enemy dead.

How can RPG, survival game developers f this so up. They create armor and shield and sword just so it is pointless because at the same time they create MAGIC into the game that is totally Over Powered.

Also as it is now, everybody can wear every type of armor, this needs to be changed. With this mages become even stronger, they can run around with heavy armor and shield and no issue and spam their OP spells

So here is how to FIX.

The skill tree needs a fix. Also Melee damage should be the HIGHEST damage in the game , WHY, because that's the damage you deal when in close range, the player takes a lot more risk than anybody else, so that risk should be rewarded with HIGHER DAMAGE.

Also the skill tree needs more skills so WARRIOR and TANK type players have gap closers, to get close to target, even if it is in the air , so they can do at least one hit in the air to them .

I am sick and tired of games where MAGIC rules all the time... Elden Ring was ruined for me because of it. I pushed through , but i always felt angry about the wasted potential.

I am hyped to play as a badass warrior / TANK only to watch people one shot bosses with stupid magic .

STAMINA or STRENGTH needs to be the stat ( or both ) that determines what ARMOR you can wear... HEAVY ARMOR should be behind HIGH STAMINA or STRENGTH stats. While MAGIC armor should be behind SPIRIt and INTELLIGENCE stats.

Shields should be behind Strength stats. The bigger and better shield you want to wear the more strength you have to have.
This will prevent a mage or rouge, archer to pickup endgame shield. because a mage has to invest into intelligence not Strength .

STAMINA should be the energy pool for a warrior/ tank for their combat, just like mana is for mages the means for using spells

Also the weapons in the game are boring, they are copy paste of the same weapons, only with higher level.

And right now, the games best weapon of course is a MAGIC STAFF that you can simply loot from a chest at the right side lower corner on the map ... we need END GAME SHIELD, END GAME one handed SWORD etc.. not again only MAGIC gets best items.

Also as of now.. i have only seen 2 one handed meele wepons that do good damage.. one is WHITE WOLF SWORD and the other is LIGHTFORGED AXE... What about the rest ??? Other wepons.. posion wepons etc?? Have not seen a legendary type for those.

Also fix infinite loot bug... people just get infinite loot from chests by logging out and back in into the game.

Death also in this game needs a bigger cost... how about you lose all your backpack items and only the items on the action bar are not lost... but to get the rest back you have to go where you died and pick it back up.

I agree, melee needs a nice fix BUT magic and archery are fine (if they were to be nerfed while buffing melee it would simply lead to further imbalances).

Melee is underperforming by a lot, its armor variant doesn't protect you that much more against phisical damage while making you more vulnerable against magic.
Imho they should give "melee" armors way more defences (like more phisical defence and the same magic defence as the "rogue" armor) but having the intrinsic debuff of using more mana and stamina while using staves and bows.

I don't understand why they didn't add an ability in the melee tree to use the grappling hook on foes to bring them in "arms reach" (like, near the tank tree you can find the skill "evasive strike" that enables you to perform a lunging strike directly after a dodge ... that feels basically a dexterity ability ... they could put it in its place and move that elsewhere).

Two handed weapons are too slow , even with the talent (and why no greatsword? or spears and polearms?).

Dual wield woul be nice too ,I think the "dedicated type"(they are one slot like every weapon but equip to "twin weapons" while disabling shields) that scales with dex would be fine.

Using the shield to perform a bash also could be good (maybe using the parry value for damage).

While I do agree with OP that mages are OP and Melee is kind of trash atm, with Archers nowhere to be seen since they are all out gathering twigs.

But I dont agree that Melee should be the HIGHEST damage. Ideally things will be more or less balanced. Stagger needs to get buffed way the ♥♥♥♥ up because as it stands 2H play style is not fun, I get 2 solid hits on an enemy and that doesnt even phase them.

I like that you can wear any armor and dont think that it should be scrapped. The whole point of the talent tree and wearing whatever armor you want is that it gives you freedom to mix and match however you want.

Battle mage is literally a thing, why shouldnt you be able to be a mage wearing plate armor? I love that. Right now it comes with tradoffs like losing mana so its not like mages dont lose anything for not wearing their proper sets. They lose crit, mana etc if they want to be more tanky.

The game does not need to overhaul the entire system, just balance it.

1. Magic has always been "OP" depending on the perspective. no matter whether it was old school rpg's or real time rpg's.

2. What bothers me more is that melee weapons break too quickly because you often hit several things at the same time.

3. As far as the armor is concerned, you could easily withstand a little more, as you can be torn apart by some opponents in an instant (multiplayer 3+). Solo is fine.

4. as far as skills are concerned. Everything that has to do with stunning (press E) is worthless, that could be better, animation is too long and you are vulnerable.

5. Flying enemies are and should always be a problem for melee fighters, otherwise it would make other classes pointless. In an emergency, there are still bows if you don't want to use magic

Personally, I play as a paladin/tank and can't complain, other than what I've already mentioned in point 2 and 3

Thanks to the devs that there is actually a game that deserves the title EA

Or how about for once a game BALANCES what's not FOTM instead of always nerfing things. Bring other "Class" archetypes up to the standard of Mage so everyone's happy.

Melee is already great for tanking and crowd control. Then you have armor that can provide massive health boosts later on to make melee even more viable. If you build your character around melee you'll be fine.

Bosses can be dangerous as many of their attacks can't be blocked and some have attacks with multiple projectiles so if you're in melee it's more likely you'll take multiple projectiles to the face at once, but that's not something you can solve by nerfing ranged attacks.

The other classes are fine, the only real issue with magic is Acid Bite which is definitely bugged. OP is just here to complain.
