Using Elixir
I've got stacks of elixir I've never used because, yuck. I guess I'm more of a role player than I thought.

It seems to me that using Elixir should come with bigger penalties, even stacking penalties for each successive time you use it. The -1 minute in the shroud is nuthin, and since this Elixir is the cause of all this worlds awfulness, you'd think it would be a big deal to use it.

It's fine, because the point is that the elixir warps the human body, but you are a flameborn so you are very resistant to it.

You can stack elixir + prayer of flames for a +30% atk, +20% m.atk, and no timer penalties lol.

When you add shroud survival potion buffs on top it's even bigger gains.

What should be implemented is enemies 'drinking' elixir while in a fight with you and becoming super tanky as part of their phase change.

I mean.... the little health potion could be good? Blueberries and Mushrooms, i imagine it to taste like a sweet red Miso soup.
But that blue one you find that ups attack and -1m in shroud just looks naaasty

This game is pretty polished for an early access, but the more I play it, the more I'm sure that some serious rebalancing is going to happen before it's finalized.

With all the ways you have to either buff up your shroud time or reset the timer, a one minute debuff is nothing. +30% damage is a big benefit by comparison.

With the armour i'm using Guardian of the North, that -1 min is horrible and drops my time (even with shroud potion) to around 4-5 mins with a level 2 flame.
X.x

But i was more commenting about how it tastes as per the above quote, not its effectiveness or usefulness. Blue drank is either super delicious or heinous lmao

I finally used one, and afterwards, got an 'elixir crazed' debuff that lasts at least 12 minutes. That's more like what I'd expect, a big downside to using it. Now if I could just figure out what the debuff actually DID...

If you figure it out, let us know. :)

Same, I am wondering what it does, and coming up short. How bad can it really be, right?

Right, I mean... we are suppose to be "immune" right? ;)

Elixir says on the tin "30% more damage, -1 minute max shroud time". That's what it does..?

right, there is after effect after it wore out. we are not sure what it does.
and I (just me) too lazy and strict not to test it out ;) (character wise, elixer = bad, no drinkie drinkie!)

There's a debuff after the original potion expires, but no one knows what it does.

Hey. I could be wrong so double check yourself, but I believe in the status screen it generally says what buffs and debuffs do. Or at least they have a description but some aren't always helpful. I also wasn't sure what the debuff was so I looked there and if I remember correctly, essentially the buff was the bonus attack and the elixir crazed debuff referred to the -1 shroud time.

Haha, like Mr. Bill posted. I sure some nerfs and buffs are coming our way. Melee needs a buff. Hopefully any mage mage nerfs are minor. Archers just need easier arrows.

The "Minus 1 minute in the Shroud" is easily offset with abilities and potions.

Technically (with a certain perk), if you kill fast and often enough, you can stay in the Shroud indefinitely if using the right weapons.

Where do you find the most elixir?
