If only they would add torches to the game, and then allow you to put them down so you can see while you fight or search a room.
That may be too immersive for this game though.
What makes you say they may be doing this?
There are barely any votes on those lantern suggestions.
You might be surprised to know but a good portion of the player base likes the idea of putting the torch down to make a light source for combat. It's a mechanic rarely seen, and adds to the immersion.
It's one of the reasons I bought the game.
I want a light source a little less bothersome than the ways we have now. In some games you can slightly tweak your gamma setting to a happy compromise between night and day and see quite well in both but this game is so overpoweringly bright and/or foggy during the day that a little more gamma would be like staring into the sun. I actually have things set to dull the brightness down right now but I am unsure what I tweaked to get it better and it isn't a great help at night.
and there is no real night in the shroud
You can go the their suggestions page and upvote the 'torch in off hand' thread. You are not the first, or only person who wants this, it's pretty high on the list. I don't have that link handy.
But I'd like to see any variety of light sources. Flaming swords, or miners headlamps, or 'light' spells to make your staff glow. Or a ring of infravision. Whatever. It all adds fun and bling.
The trolls here on the Steam threads are just doing what trolls do. Ignore them.
In this case there is a valid comment with the licht IF you are on a location where there is no other light source like the shroud or mushrooms that give light etc. Probably food for thought for the dev's.
ps, can we stop creating lengtly discussions that are totaly not relevent to the mather at hand? Flaming eachother is so easy and also so not constructive.
a lamp you can attach to your belt later on would be fun tho.
Bruh don't white knight a steam avatar :P
That's the thing though. This game is clearly balanced around night being an issue.
Don't like it? Sleep or ragequit. Don't force the developers to make the game easier than what it already is. Right now, they need to increase difficulty a lot because it's baby-level already.
So, disagreeing with you, automatically makes everyone a "troll"?
The whole purpose of the game clearly, is that difficulty is increased during night.
Removing the "problem" to equip a light source eliminates that difficulty.
As if the game isn't already easy as it is :P
You can spam through the whole game without any struggles...
