Shroud Levels Altar and Visual Appearance

I am kinda confused. I am still in the starting area and what i have seen so far, i see teal and red colored clouds of miasma. So two different types. However, when i check the altar i guess there are 6 different shroud defense levels. Okay, so there might be another type of miasma i haven't seen yet. But my real question is... what for instance is Level 2 in terms of the altar and visual appearance in the world? It certainly does not allow me to venture into the red stuff. Or are uneven number the access levels to a certain shroud type while even is just anothe upgrade to the general amount of time i can endure the miasma?

As you increase your flame some areas that were red will turn blue meaning that you can now survive in them as normal. So red is not a type of shroud, it is an indicator that your flame level is too low for that area...unfortunately it doesn't indicate exactly how many times you need to increase your flame level to make it blue.

So upgrading the flame does two things:

Increases amount of time you can spend in blue shroud
More shroud is turned into blue shroud

I am hoping at some point the game or at least gaming guides can put numbers on the flame level needed for each area.
