Anyone using Staffs?
Even with the endless spells, I feel that the charge time is way too long and the damage output is way too low. Plus, I miss a lot. Sometimes I can open combat with one spell but the wand does similar damage and has a cast time of only 0.6 seconds.

So are Staffs useless? Or is there any good spell?

Spells like meteor sound nice in theory but when you are getting swarmed with enemies, you don't have the time to prepare the charge.

You don't need blood magic for a mages mana battery since there's a very easy to get ring that gets the mana back pretty much as fast as you can cast, especially solo where you may need to move between shots.

Yeah you got build into it, also you got dodge with any ranged build or group up. Its like healing tree its kind dodo unless you doing CO-OP. Accept you can actually do still S tier according to all the guides with wizzard you just got spec into it right. If you want easy mode you should pick a melee build as most thing rush at you and not just stand there for you to range them UNLESS they can range attack back.

Like its same in every game I played with magic, close quarters is you weak point. I mean what proposed fix a summed pet to tank for you?
Disagree again.
While leveling maybe. Now, at full power, why do i need to dodge? They are dead if i point at them. The healing tree is amazing for solo and busted in groupplay as it stacks.
Yes, closequarters is your weakness if you think there would be no enemies in that room. Else you got a massive aoe that stuns 4s on crit while having easily 50% crit, if anything even survives beeing hit in the first place.

Bloodletting is more powerful, the ring alone isn't enough to cover my manathirst.

i dont understand the point of staffs, they take a long time to charge up, require consumables, but what's worst of all is each cast uses like 50% of your mana, so you can shoot twice and you're gimped and have to switch to a non-useless weapon anyway, which pretty much all of them do more damage than the staff.......what's the point?

i'm halfway through the game now (level 12) and they're still useless.

The same as almost a year ago.
Use eternal spells. Spells hit harder than any other weapons and there are serval skills having syngery, making spells very the second most powerful option in endgame.
If you're lvl 12, you're probably nowhere near halfway done, skillpoints matter a lot.

At end game currently and I use staff's 90% of the time and wand the other 10%. Eternal fireball is amazing from long range and I mean long. Skill points matter a lot to make staff's work and initially I was a wand build. At max level 35, nearly full battlemage/wizard skill tree, some healer, trickster and survivor skill trees I destroy the place literately. Level 40 legendary staff helps as well.
Necroed a thread from last year to bash the most powerful class in the game hehehe, staves are great, mage gameplay is boring imo, since you go high, get to a safe spot and clear everything from afar, a staff now with mana leech gets your mana back instantly if you hit a large mob with a fireball, so infinite mana, hollow halls even with double enemies is a joke.

ok i will persist with it then thanks, gotta spend more points in the magic trees it seems :)
Theres one thats mandatory, 50% faster charge for staves, another one is chain hit, that thing packs a punch even using the wand.
