If I upgrade one Flame Altar, does it apply to all of them?

If I was to "Strengthen the Flame" or "Upgrade Altar", would the benefits apply to every Flame Altar I build thereafter, or only the Altar that I'm applying those upgrades to?

Nope. Gotta upgrade every altar separately.

Strengthen the flame only needs to be done one time for each level.
You only need to pay the blue things for upgrading each altar then.

Yes strengthening is global because it upgrades your attributes and your 'shroud resistance level'.
Upgrading is local because it upgrades your base building range.

One upgrade on the altar states a GLOBAL benefit, while the other upgrade on the altar is simply to expand your maximum building distance, depth, height etc.
