Safron
I have enriched soil, but saffron doesnt seem to grow consistently. Several have grown, and the rest will not. In the time it has failed to grow, ive grown three batches of mushrooms.

I dont know whats wrong with it.

I am having a similar issue. I tried planting in sand with zero results, tried sand in desert biome and nothing. Out of about 30 plants I have 1 that has grown and only a few that have progressed.

My guess is that it just takes longer? I know some plants grow in a few minutes, such as the shrubs for sticks. Others take about a day. With the fertilized soil I'm leaving it over night now to see if it will result in a full crop.

leaving or reloading/returning seems to help, but not 100% gonna work.

I believe its meant to be one of the longest growing plants since its so rare but once you start using hundreds of seeds it gets easier, so far i've had enough to get the last tier of the flame and yet have quite a few left over, and about 60 in the garden growing atm.

Did read somewhere that saffron grows faster in just plain dirt. Tried it, and they grow much faster in plain Dirt than Fertilised Farm Soil. Did an expirement just now, and by the time the Saffron in the dirt had grown fully, the Saffron in Fertilised Farm Soil had not even entered their second stage.

I didnt have access to the rake at the time so i just planted all my saffron in regular dirt at the starter base area.

It seems to be one of my fastest growing crops.

Try growing it in sand, works for me, aloe too

I think the fertilized soil is what is bugged. I built several large, raised-bed planters and could only plant three plants right down the center. Anything beyond that and the plants/seedlings just vaporize after a few seconds. When I planted the seedlings in the same planter boxes, but with the fertilized soil replaced with normal garden soil, they did fine, and I could fill the box with seedlings.
Here's a picture where you can see the planter with just three beats down the center (to the left. But the Saffron planter box (behind the scarecrow) with regular farm soil is doing great.
