Currently i'm just grinding regular wells. It is grind, but it works. :D
From the documents you can find scattered around the world all point to water drying up everywhere and people dying from dehydration pretty much.
I do find it kind of amusing that the description says a "near limitless supply of water" but only gets you 3-5 before running dry?
Unlimited in terms of "it always refills" and not in terms of "you can pull out hectoliters of water at once".
Still, at the point you can build a well, you could also place a few more around your base in stead of picking up and placing them again.
For farming: I did already some farming myself. If you just farm for yourself, it's easy to get along with the water you get from a single well, that already exists in the world. But if you want to fill your farm with 200 flax and 100 tomatoes at once, water becomes a real issue. So maybe just work around the current limitations in stead of demanding that they need to go at all.
not that it matters currently. most of the crafting is invalidated by rng chest loot farming sadly. a system that needs a full revamp asap.
since food isnt really needed as you can beat anything by just useing basic food without issue.
and potions arent needed until water aura gets its much needed nerf.
