Tips for a new player

Hey all, coming in basically blind to this game. Any good tips I should know or you wish you knew when first starting? Thanks.

One important thing while exploring: always carry a flame altar or a bunch of stones with you: the game will send you back to the last altar you visited every time you quit/logout; remember to drop the altar before doing so, so you can use it as a waypoint to resume your travels!
Craft some containers as soon as you can, and keep the building supplies in there when adventuring: inventory space will be tight for a while.
The crafting table will repair all of your gear every time you interact with it.
Foods can give you buffs but tiu can only have 3 of them active at a time, keep that in mind before eating/drinking.
In combat, always dodge to the sides, as most enemies will lunge towards you as part of their attack animation.

Watch some vids on it. Really, do that. Or just go in there and flail around. You will be fine.

Huh so you mean like literally everyone?

Torches are just like axes. They take damage as you use them, but are fully repaired at a work bench. No need to make more than one, unless you expect to need that much torch time on a single trip.
