Building with blocks
I think I must be missing something. Is there a way to build more than one block at a time? It seems tedious to place one at the time like shown below. I think I saw someone mention you can have different sizes of the blocks but I can't seem to see any option to change it or craft larger ones.

With building hammer in hand, press tab, scrolling changes to shapes in the line, alt + scroll changes the row to another row if shapes, ctrl + scroll changed material you have in inventory that's available to use. I'm bewildered as to how u are building with 1 block and haven't seen the rest.

Lol oh no... please go craft a construction hammer.

EDIT: Wait you're holding one, select it and press tab.

This might be the best thing I've seen in the discussions today.

Too cute

No matter how good the tutorial, there will always be somebody...

You guys are not understanding what he is asking, he is talking about building a line or plane of blocks all at once like in other crafting games such as Empyrion, or Space Engineers, where you can hold Shift and drag the line you want to place them down in to place more than one at a time instead of just one block at a time (regardless of shape).

Why a line - is it to mark out the final shape or is it to put the floor/foundation on. It's so easy to remove things that it isn't really necessary to mark out a shape in this way. And foundation/flooring comes in thick or thin so you can easy build above the ground.

This game desparately needs better building block options. We need more options and variations such as:

1x2
1x3
1x5
1x6

and this for both directions so for horizontal and vertical...there far too many times when building where the full wall section is too big and you have to default to placing one single block at a time.

For example building a round tower that looks something like this:

https://i.postimg.cc/xjZdpNfk/temp.png

Would be much better to have single block of:
1x6
1x2

Also wall blocks of like 5x6 and 2x8 etc etc instead since you are building up and only want block on the blue spots you have to place everything single block by single block going up however tall your tower is cause trying to use full or those smaller part wall block ends up with you needing to delete far too many block and likely messing up the pattern.

Basically we need more variation on the building block selection be it for single block, wall block, ceiling block etc etc.

We also need to be able to rotate all the block like we can rotate fences when placing them...I mean you can't even rotate windows or door or roof part.

When I say rotate I mean just that rotate, not hitting R to auto rotate it a full 90 degrees but to be able to rotate it slightly by increment like you can the fence part.

This would allow us to make if not perfectly round towers we can keep using the method as in the pic link for that BUT be able to add doors, windows in more varied positions AND be able to make octagonal roof etc.

Your options are 1x1 or 4x4 for foundations.
Why make it more complicated than it needs to be for foundations.
At best, triangle foundations would give us everything we could want for circle buildings.

If they're going to give us variety, let it be walls, roofs, and half blocks. But foundations? Meh.

2x2 as well.

You can hold the left mouse button and drag it to build more.

Have we gotten ANY feed back at all or reply on what and if the devs intend to add more building block options/types?

I mean I get this is EA I am just wondering on if there any kind of roadmap and I am not asking for dates or anything just a general idea of what they plan on working on.
