low meadows spire
Can anyone explain to me WTF I am doing wrong? There is a section near the top where you have to grapple hook to a climbing wall. However, using the grapple hook and jumping to the wall leaves me with 0 stamina so I just immediately fall onto the spike floor below. Seriously frustrating crap.

foods, potions, gear or even skill node unlocks will help with stamina

Just did that mission. Yeah was annoying as hell. The trick I found out by accident is to run out of stamina right above the stone pillars. I fell off the wood climbing frame when my stamina ran out and landed on top of one of them, they only stick out a little but you land on one and get your stamina back and not land on the spikes below. Hope that helps you. No need for potions, water or extra skills.

Thanks for the reply but kind of vague. I am relatively early in the game so I don't have a lot of skill points. That said the few I have went to double jump and stamina efficiency. Are you implying these spires are actually locked behind higher level skills/potions/gear?

Certain types of food will give stamina buff, like water will give you max stamina. There's also skills you can choose to give you more stamina. Have a rested buff from your base also increases your max stamina (also lasts 10+ minutes). By not giving yourself a food buff or even rested buff you're heavily handicapping yourself. Your first base you drop is 100ft from an infinite supply of water at the well in the ruins near where you spawn in for the first time. Spires are puzzles with rewards hidden within, so I see them more as a challenge tower more than anything.

I have water and honey. I have tried using both and that didn't do anything. The spire is a ways from my home so the rested buff was worn off by the time I got to that point and I have now died/fallen so many times I'm almost out of food entirely. I guess they just locked these spires outside the reach of early game play which sort of sucks. I was trying to open them ASAP for exploration purposes.

You can build more than one base, the fires act as fast travel points. So drop one temporarily near the spire, get your rested buffs from your main base, teleport back, then take it on. Depending on how much extra stamina you have, your stamina wheel will generate past filling the circle just once. My current character can get 180% stamina just from my rested buff and the rings I have equipped. Adding water brings to closer to 200%

Saying it's being locked is a lie, you just have to learn to use the mechanics of the game properly. First time I did that tower I was still in fur armor and just 2 rings that gave 10 stamina. I doubt I even had the rested buff because I was out exploring. Later towers become progressively harder by either having a more difficult puzzle or higher level enemies. So some towers may be too hard to take on for you at this point and time.

Edit: Spending your skill points will also drastically change your character. I didn't spend a single point until I hit level 5 and went down the ranger tree. My ranged damage doubled just by spending 5 levels of skill points. If you don't like the build you have you can respec for 10 runes which is really cheap.

Edit: Also to note, decorations also increase the comfort of your base, which gives a better rested buff. So investing in a couple decorations add up.

Sounds locked to me. Until I get the food/gear/skills required to have enough stamina I can't do it. I guess I'll just have to "progress" more in the game to unlock it. BTW, my stamina bar is a quarter beyond "full" already but I guess that still isn't enough because I haven't unlocked other food or gear. Thanks for the info.

I'll be honest the grapple is kind of weird at times and you might be jumping off the hook too early or late and landing too far down the climbable wall as well. I had issues in another area where it wouldn't swing me fast enough and caused me to fall short.
I just went through it with a friend again for my 3rd time, and his first, and he was having some issues but got it his 3rd attempt because he has a habit of sprinting and not waiting for his stamina to regen fully.

Well I tried that trick and it didn't work. I fell directly over that little pillar thing but still just fell to the ground. I think you got very lucky with some glitchy gameplay or something or maybe I'm just not doing it the same. This game is very frustrating atm.

Yeah maybe I did get lucky with a glitch then. I'm sure it was like the second pillar to the right once you land on the climbing frame. I fell to the spikes like 8 times until I realised it was the lack of stamina. So I tried water for extra stamina and I guess got lucky then.

I was able to do this by sending on the ledge towards the grappling point, and moving as far to the left as I could and still grapple. This "aimed" me more towards the opening you are trying to get to. I barely had enough stamina to make it to the top of the lattice.

You don't need any skill points invested at all for this. Be rested and drink water. If you have any food or gear that enhances stamina/endurance that will help too. But having the rested buff and water should be enough.
