So no actual Survivor managment?

So i got this game now too and after some deaths i finally managed to get my first Survivor. The Blacksmith. So my question is. Are those survivors once you "placed" them in your Housing Square actually do something on there own or do they just let me unlock new Stuff like a kiln, forge and other things? I was actually hoping you could give them commands like "Gather ressources" Hunt animals. Or am i missing something. If not it feels pretty lame seeing my blacksmith just standing on one spot the whole time.

They give you requests but are otherwise just human crafting crafting stations (that require shelter to unlock further recipes). They do not walk around and you can't give them commands. I do not know if the game will eventually support workers/resource gatherers but it seems like a reasonable feature request (V rising has it for example).

I mean sure the game is also Multiplayer...but helpful workers in singleplayer would make the game for me also more enjoyable. But when they only stand around and just have a crafting station use is pretty boring.
