Can build anywhere... was a lie
so wtf the devs were saying you could build anywhere, i understand not placing a fire in the shroud but not being able to place one in the Capital city in the non shrouded areas is just dumb, put one outside on border of build allowed area upgraded build zone and still cant place items in the city even tho its in the flames border.

whats the point of having the ability to place so many flames but cant actually build anywhere good

the base building in this game is such a let down there is 0 reason to build, just dog a hole cram ya NPCs inside and the benches and done, cant rebuild any of the "ruins: or even a single tower in the Capital city.... what a joke , games main hyped feature... the building... system... that you cant really use anywhere good.

Maybe at some point there will be a point we'll get that. But for now.
We are incredibly limited because the fog can't be erased.
(Maybe that will be an end game ability.

The fog can be erased actually.

You have to take out the fountains. It was in a quest.

Fountains re spawn and only get a small area around them sadly, the cap[ital city also has no wells near it.

its not the shroud stopping me from building there its a physical invisible wall that doesn't allow any building in the city at all
Well considering that the game is in early access I can only hope that they'll fix up some of their redundant features and corrects the features that players were expecting. I won't judge them too harshly yet but while I'm enjoying the game so far I do expect more development on it. I personally think the skill tree is a bit flat. There are a few cool things in it but overall it's meaningless. They give you these different classes as if to say you can mix and match them but they don't really work out because you'll end ip just using all the points surrounding your build. I'm hoping they will fix that

I serious hope they'll allow u to build anywhere except in cities or town unless they allow u to buy buildings in the city persay and allow u to remove building and build your own building on said plot of land that was previously bought

....why would there be "plots of land" in a city to buy ? the point of the building is to choose where YOU build a "city" base whatever

point i was making is Devs said there were no restrictions to where you could build be it underground a floating city w/e unless you want to fix up a ruin in Capital... ah well ill just use the extra flames as fast travels and dumo my NPCs and benches in a cave somewhere

when it comes to the skill tree i got the feeling they were like oh wow Path of Exile has the perfect skill tree we will do that.... then they just couldn't replicate it or come up with anything good for it and got left with what it is.

the skill tree feels like its missing hundreds if not maybe a thousand or so nodes to choose from, in saying that though ud just end up way more powerful and 1 hit everything in the game cos no scaling

You can craft wells with the carpenter i believe if you do the quests

I have a very specific issue with the fog because I took over the church in woodguard and there are a bunch of spores causing the very bottom of the actual inside of said church to be enshrouded. Despite my instinct of taking a pickaxe to all the Mycelium in the whole area and assuming that would solve the issue... there it remains, as pain in the butt as ever and I still cannot build in the bottom of what is now my church even though it is within my already now massive and heavily upgraded build area. Axing off alot of what should be my territory. This also applies to the surrounding area below the actual church where there is a lot of fog and I wish I could do something about it but at the very least the larger section is more reasonable and that would require an immensely insane amount of mining which I wouldn't be opposed to doing if it was allowed but understandable that that specifically is not. Regardless It's very unfortunate that I don't have a way to get rid of the shrowed down At least at the very bottom of the church stairs ( as far as I can tell) and the fact my instincts were incorrect in thinking removing the source of the contamination would actually remove the contamination allowing me to use the whole space permanently definitely spoiled my fun a fair bit. Too bad but maybe the Devs can consider working in such a thing where If we clean out all of the related voxel blocks to contamination in an area it can remove the enshrouded section So long as it's within a flames area or something. Because that would be very helpful for my situation greatly 😅

I am in literally the exact same situation. I've completely restored the Woodgard church but have left the basement alone because it's enshrouded and thus worthless. Heck I don't even really like using the one side of the church because of the "spooky" shroud music/sounds that bleed over from the lower area surrounding it.

If it's part of a contained structure inside a flame area, the altar should blow out the shroud.

Multiplayer consequence, there are quests in that area, who can be broken if respawning is prevented at the wrong spot.
Humpenstilzchen Feb 19, 2024 @ 5:17am
They had multiplayer in mind when creating this game and building there would prevent others from farming or doing quests.
