tedious, well call me crazy, but that's why i like it. you have so many options and ways to design your base home, its INSANE. then again i LOVE building in games.
Back tracking if you make a mistake when you're building should be easier and you should reclaim the materials you built it with. Just like Valheim. It's an obvious QOL.
I don't know, 72 minutes in and I'm getting kinda disillusioned. Thinking bout Valheim.
BUT i do get what you mean.
Agree, this is one of the better building systems I have seen in a game, with a lot of flexibility to switch between different sized blocks and shapes. The freedom to remove items without worrying about structural integrity makes it even more flexible as a building system, because you can pull out a floor, wall or roof without worrying about the whole building collapsing.
The only problems I have are, once you replace a building with an upgraded component or new material, it would be nice to be able to recycle the old blocks.
Also I found the filled in edges of the old material are not always removed unless you take out all the connected items then rebuild with the new material. For example I upgraded from wood to wooden half blocks (from one of the carpenter side quests) but some of the old wooden edges were still on the sides of the floor / roof / wall. So I had to pull out the entire section leaving window frames floating and furniture, but as soon as I placed the new structure it all looked fine again.
The only floor tile I couldnt replace immediately was where my bed was so I picked it up then re-did the floor and placed it back again.
At the start of the game you are limited in your choices of materials, but as you play, you unlock more building material types.
ah weird indeed, but the save zone should have protected you, maybe a bug, its EA after all.
As to enemies in the base; I have been shot through windows by mobs in the higher level areas. They wandered in and saw me. Building wasn't damaged that I could see.
