...but then how do you reclear shrouds that reappear if you cant farm shroud roots this way?
you can. but the skillpoints are character based so you can rekill the root but you wont get a skill point the 2nd time with the same character.
welcome to fixed gameworld map downsides. cannot be helped. ore nodes and stuff are limited on the map. your gameworld would run out at some point.
there is next to no reason to ever go back to cleared elixir wells currently.
Even when you dont ligg out, stuff resets every 30min or so.
There are reasons for this. Like it or dont. Many people like me, dont care and love the game nevertheless.
This is my big pet peeve with the game. The story is your supposed to be restoring the land but how can you do that if things just reset. Not everything needs to be persistent but come on roots re spawning! The problem is they didn't say they were making the game primarily for group play UNTIL after they released it into EA. So the solo player is kinda getting hosed. But I have hopes they will add some toggles to let us choose what can be persistent. The options for difficulty were added and that helps the solo player so there is hope for the story part of the game if they add some persistent options.
i do believe it is an upcoming option because when you interact with the Lowlands ancient spire at the top it literally tells you to " clear the shroud and discover the beauty below" ( at least it did yesterday)--plus there was a bug awhile back that would clear the shroud if an alter was placed next to a cleared shroud root , a bug ill agree with because it did the entire map not just an area which meant if you placed an alter after clearing a shroud root in the Springlands at level 5 youd have access to the entire map and no need to upgrade your alter flame. but what would be nice is that if they actually implemented this and say that if you clear ALL the shroud roots in an area and maybe a larger ( 5x )and hidden one that w/several enemy swarms at 5 levels higher to interupt you chopping it down that would be nice.
Actually redoing the low level wells is an easy way to farm the Shroud Cores as opposed to making them.
if you redo the carpenter vault you get 3 shroud cores from there , quicker than one at a time.
I agree, it undermines the sens of accomplishment. It took me a long time to work out that I was not clearing areas permanently because I mean....is't that the premise of the game? Save the world and restore it to what it was?
IDK, would have been cool to slowly see nature replacing all the Mtcelium, some of those areas might make pretty neat altar locations as well.
