Ancient Spire in Revelwood

Do you need to be able to enter red shroud zones to get here? I found a bridge but it's inside red fog.

red shroud becomes passable once it turns blue. this happens when your flame altar anywhere on the map has a certain "flame level passage"

this is the major gateing mechanic of the gameworld map. its required to progress.

Alright thanks, wasn't sure if I was supposed to do this yet. Looks like I'll be hunting a matriarch first then.

You do NOT have to have a level 3 flame to get there- you can reach the tower without needing to cross through any red shroud. But that means circling way around to the west, a fair amount of mountainside billy-goating, and for me I had to pickaxe stairways a couple of times to get up otherwise impassible cliffsides.

I did it like Guurzak, I've been wandering around a lot, getting lost and dying, and sometimes getting my stuff back. As part of that, I did the Revelwood Spire before getting my Flame to level 3. Then I advanced the flame and shook my damn head when I saw all the shroud turn blue.

So, you _can_ do it before Flame 3, but you probably don't want to. :P

I actually went to the east. Their was a bridge I crossed. Then had to pickax a staircase up along the mountin side. Found out later on. If I had just hunted down the matriach my next flame level up at base turned it all blue.
