Progression is tied to the world rather than character so you're probably better off playing solo or with a specific group of folk you game with that won't wander off and do their own thing so they miss out on something.

Yup 15 hours in, only playing Solo making lots of progress.

40 hours, level 25 - solo, everything unlocked and done.

so this game is complete in 40 hours?

I did it in about 40 hours, but now the fun begins. Find every single hidden piece, minmax your stuff and keep in mind the early access area is "limited" and there will be future map/content updates. My wild guess for later on is that you need 60-80 hours to "complete" everything from scratch. And this is the time if you only progress through questlines, npc unlocks and farm the bare minimum of stuff you need to unlock all reciepes etc.

If you take your time and maybe build one or two nice outposts, it will definitely take 100+ hours later on.
