It got boring shockingly quick
I was really looking forward to this game after seeing all the cool gameplay demo videos that were floating around, and the trailers.
But after playing it really does just boil down to a very generic survival game very quickly, and the combat is really not nearly as engaging as it looks either. It also has some framerate issues despite running a 3080 12gig.
Idk this game looked right up my ally but, something about is just off, making really very boring, nothing is hooking me, it feels like a game ive already played through 10 times before.

And considering that this is the first version of Early Access, I can't even begin to imagine what the final version will be like, gonna be awesome.

I'm with you on this! The day it became downloadable, I was sitting at my desk, coffee in-hand at precisely 9am (my time) for it to go in the Store. Bought it and spent half a day downloading it (was an issue on my end, not the game). I've been insanely addicted to it ever since. As many hours as I've played, I'm still only Level 15 with a level 3 or 4 Flame Altar. I've spent so much time just trying to find my way around the map and figure out how to get to quests, and getting side-tracked by other quests. I've done a little base-building, just because I enjoy building and decorating. I'm up to the "Copper Age", LOL!

There will always be some that love it, and some that don't find it fun... you can't please all of the people all of the time. For me, it's been WELL worth the $26 USD I paid while it was on sale. I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth, and anything from here on is just "gravy". JMO.

I'm still waging to buy it or not, and probably will end up waiting for the next bigger update to see what they are trying to do.

But, it seems like people how got bored with this one faster, are the ones who play a lot of survival/crafting/rpg games; so how many have you played?

How can you hate the combat in this when it's far better than the combat in valheim, just a haters post.
Eagleone Feb 2, 2024 @ 2:23am
Same here. Exploring around isn't exciting at all.
You just find another stupid chest with the same items, another stupid tower, or another stupid quest that's all.

They should have done something cool with the story.

Enemies being ridiculously easy is what puts me off.

They become more durable and harder hitting, but the tactics never change, backpedal and wail at them, magic, bow, melee all the same, just backpedal and attack between their attacks.

If enemy is lunging or charging, add a block.

Valheim combat, while also not exactly demanding felt much, much better, if only due to the need to prepare yourself with right food and know when to dodge and when to block or parry.

can't say it got boring quick on my end. i can say once you get to this max level it gets frustrating that you can't upgrade fast ehnuff to kill the lv30 anoying enemy's, like the flying dragons that do major damage or all the bosses who are so fast, kiting as archer is a pain in the but, because you stop drawing the bow when you get hit.

end game "as of now ofc" needs a tad rebalancing if you ask me, and me being on the easy mode "because i hate making things hard in early access games, just becuse i know there will be bugs and unbalance issues" anyways, i'm having more then fun in building, so many things you can do.

i do wish i had a tad better of a pc "not blaming the game here", i do have a fairly old pc and actually em amazed the game even runs lol. i see people with 10 times the better pc then me having fps issues, while i have 45-60 fps depending on where i em in the world. makes me wonder, how can someone with 10 times better pc have less fps then me... (call me lucky i geuss)

What other survival games have you played the most? There are so many to choose from, especially EA that I'm cherry picking what to try next.

Enshrouded does look kind of generic with decent graphics but you didn't find any originality in it to be a more long term enjoyment?

Oh jeez, Ark, Valheim, Grounded, The forest 1 and 2, Raft, Icarus, 7 days to die, its a long list lol. I have played pretty much everything that isnt pvp focused. Also the whole thing with the enshrouded part of the game,
the unique thing the game has going for it, is not fleshed out at all yet.

I really dont like that the game will put an arrow over enemies in there, it kinda ruins the fun, no point in enemies blending in with the shroud if it highlights them for you lol.

Youd also expect more difficult enemies in those zones but, they really arent and I was a little disappointed in that.
Can't compare it to all.
Raft is extremely boring compared to this, there is barly anything interesting in it.
Valheim is kind of on par, yet worse with less to find and with a lot of slow sailing, so more boring as well. It got more different zones, but they are fairly small and there isn't much to find.
Ark is huge, but parts of it are an insane huge waiting game, which is boring as well. Tons of stuff to do and stuff to find.

Icarus is grinding beyond grinding if you attempt to play solo, its not Raft kind of boring (nothing in it) but just a 10m walk stretched out to 10km.

1.5 hours away from 100 hours and I'm still not bored. It's an Early access game, and it's noticeable for sure. But that being said it might not be a game for you.

It's been more than a decade since I got hooked so badly. I see alot of potential for it too, but I have been let down in the past by some titles. I hope it will be a game I can play for a very long time, but that list is small. Only time will tell if I can beat my current record of the amount of years I have been playing a game, that record currently stands at 19 years.

Currently i'm also hooked, but i have huge doubts about the replayability.
Static map (even if it is huge) and linear progression are big, generic points against it.

And imho A LOT more stuff needs to be added to increase replayability. E.g. there is way to less different gear. Random/procedural generated items like in Diablo or Borderlands imho would fit the game really nice. Especially for coop.
Farming in the current state is just restarting the game thousands of times. Valuable chests are not even gated by bosses. Just restart, open some chests anywhere on the map (even reachable with fast travel by placing altars next to them), restart, rinse repeat. That mchanism is completely "broken" for coop, as you'd even need to restart the server over and over.

I'm really curious about how the game will develop.

Disclaimer: I know it is early access and the game imho is in a very good shape for that state. Those points have to be seen as feature requests, not whining about those are not implemented yet.

I agree.
The exploration is cool, the crafting is fine.

The quest are limited to some text and "go there".
The fight is very blunt, limited to like 4 humanoid enemy models and 2 attack patterns. Mostly super slow and super easy when you simply lock on and run around them.

The bosses have 3 attacks and just onehit you.

That does not matter to me. What matters to me is continued development, listening to the players (not too much tho). The games I have dropped were usually because the developers have. The game I have been playing for 19 years, while no new content has been made for well over a decade now, it still recieves updates (bug fixes and minor stuff).
