Can you build anywhere?

I heard the world is pretty empty but that's fine if I can build villages around. I'm big into base building. Are you limited in building by base boundaries or can I at least place a bunch down to do this?

You put down an altar and are able to build in the zone it creates, everything outside of that area resets/respawns when the server/game reloads. Also you can as you upgrade your altar(Flame) unlock the ability to put down more, so you can have more then one base.

Got it. I heard you can only rotate things at 90 degrees is that true as well?

Currently that seems to be the case but on their feature's vote there is a community request to allow for more rotation so they can make round buildings. I think over time the building will be expanded on, at least I hope as I love building and I am liking what we have so far.

There is already 10 times more crafting as Valheim will ever have so........
Sure buildings can not rotate free but all the furniture and chest can.

Other then getting stuck with box shape, the features it has for building right now is pretty amazing. I would say check out youtube to see some of the builds people have created, in order to get a more clear idea of how the building works. I am still learning most of it myself and I already foresee myself lost for hours building XD

Note: What Holdem said is correct, if you were meaning stuff you put down that can rotate freely, just the walls and structure parts can not... yet(hoping that changes :) )

If you can rotate furniture and smaller things freely then I think that's better. Maybe I will just give it a try then. Thank you for responding
