SUGGESTIONS
First off, where is the official "suggestions" thread/forum?

Until I find that, I will catalog my suggestions for this awesome game here:

NEEDS:
- We are definitely going to need an eye dropper voxel as we add to the texture library
- A way to see through our head when building/mining - suggest 1st person mode or option to make our character model invisible when in either mode

- This may be more of a want than a need, but to me this is HUGE for a significant minority of the demographic that play these types of games - we need a creative mode

----- THOUGHTS -----
After building my own starter house with a specific architecture in mind, I finally get the game. This is not another Valheim, this is something special, in its own right (and I freaking love Valheim for what it is). Please don't remove the effort from the builds, which would cheapen them. That said, maybe something in the lore could suggest we could fly or see structures we have built through a rock (to aid when joining tunnels), within our own flame area while at peace (building mode) - just a thought. I freaking love this game!

- Though obvious, just so it's said, we need a chat feature in multiplayer
- This is seriously low-hanging fruit - IF a key has a custom re-mapping, show that as the tooltip (i.e., I use NumPad Enter instead of CTRL in all cases possible, including when in combination for another key) - personally, I just gave up and purchased a game pad, but I'll likely always hate ASWD as I've remapped my keys to the NUMPAD since the early EQ days in the 90s
- This is likely a bug, but in case it's intentional, we need items (i.e., candles) to sit on top of things instead of being sunk down into them such as on a railing I made near a staircase - the candle would only go inside it instead of on top of it
- We need a tooltip that indicates if a weapon is 1 or 2 handed

WANTS:
- Ability to re-map all keys
- Ability to store select terrain changes away from our base flame - maybe a mini-flame that only impacts terrain so we could build cool access to a targeted area then move the flame to the next when focused somewhere else and need custom access
- Progress bar when destroying items (e.g., chests)
- Ability to rotate single blocks (e.g., shrouded wood - it would be nice to reorient the direction so we could get beams instead of cross sections for the other two directions
- This may be available later in the game - larger fireplace
- Ability to change our hair/beard
- Ability to "lock" items w/in the backpack so they don't move when sorting - since we have to carry so many items (extra weapons, flame alter, lockpicks, etc.) it would be nice to have them either locked since they don't have a dedicated slot
- This is more of a need than a want, as things grow, but it would be nice to have a listing of all locations unlocked on the map so we can quickly find the one we are searching for - we select from a list and it jumps to that location

- Allow placeables to be placed in non-cardinal orientations

However, they've gotten so many suggestions they've suspended adding more, encouraging people to upvote and comment on similar suggestions instead of adding more

I think the Developers have that on their own Discord, or so I heard. That feature upvote is locked.

I have a suggestion for build mode. You need to give us control of the camera when we are in build mode, I have played a lot of building games, and I love the styles and how you put it together, but I found myself getting frustrated, just updating my home. It got worse when I tried to repair a damaged home I wanted to use, I quit and left it, I was that agitated, trying to place things correct, trying to rotate to see its in place, can't see it, oops wrong place, try again...UGH. Then one day I watched a youtube video of someone repairing a home, and that is when I realized just how difficult it was, and it doesn't need to be. We need a build mode, that is separate from the avatar we play. Because we can't control the camera, when we move our avatar, to try to see what we are doing, we often get blocked so we can see nothing. We need a camera we can control at the very least, Its just frustrating that your camera is connected to the avatar's movement, so when you try to move the item, the avatar moves with the move, and blocks what you were trying to see. I have seen people use it on video, and seem to have no problem, I am not one of them. I have played a lot of games with building in it, I play Planet Crafter, I have played all of the sims games 1-4, and I pay icarus, just to name a few different styles of games that have a build mode. I didn't expect Sims, but maybe because we are in first person mode in those games, its much easier. I suppose if you give us the ability to choose first person mode, or how we play now, that might actually work very well if not fix the issue. That would leave people to choose the way that works best for them, like in many other games.

This. So much this. Being locked down camera wise as we are, for a building game, is simply bad.
