I am also trying to load my local world save onto my dedicated server. AFAIK it's not possible since the server seems to be erasing the local save everything you boot it.

I tried erasing, rennaming etc nothing seems to work.

Hi, how can I locate the local server files in first place?

The location of the local savegame is in ...\Steam\userdata\...\1203620\remote

Copy the 3ad85aea and 3ad85aea_info to the savegame folder in the server. You will find the same one in there. Just make sure its not running.

The problem of doing this is that you are not exporting any WORLD save files, you are only exporting your CHARACTER and PROGRESS save files. When you login into the server with these files you have a new WORLD with the old CHARACTER and PROGRESS (this includes only inventory and map markers). The whole world fresh while your map (when you click M) still has all your progress only MARKED but everything is reset to default.

Have you done this?

I did this, it works like I quoted, the character comes, the world doesn't.

This is how I got it to work.
I hosted my game and renamed it the same as the game on the server. I sat same amount of people and same password.
Be careful these files have the same name
Stop the server, make sure it is stopped. On your server in /savegames/ copy the files 3ad85aea and 3ad85aea.backup to a new folder onto your harddrive, make sure you do not overwrite those files with the same name on your PC. Now delete them from your server. Make a copy of the files in In your Steam folder C: \Steam\userdata\"steamid"\1203620\remote. Find the file: 3ad85aea in the folder copy this file to your server. Restart the server
You might have to verify the game files on the server and restart the server a couple of times.

Found a solution; when you start the server it creates a game file in the "savegame" folder and loads from that every time. Open the server so it creates these, then close the server. You then need to drag in the world files you want (eg. 3hjbg4ea file and 3hjbg4ea.info file or whatever yours are named from your steam game folder) and then rename them to the same names as the server generated file (eg. 3tedg5our and 3tedg5our.backup). Delete the generated files after that and the server should now load your world file

I was able to get a group save originally hosted by a friend onto my dedicated server. We still have all our progress and all our buildings.
  1. Make sure the server is off.
  2. Get both the `3bd85c7d` and `3bd85c7d_info` files located in `...\Steam\userdata\"steamid"\1203620\remote`. (3ad85aea appear to be older saves)
  3. Rename both of the files to `3ad85aea` and `3ad85aea_info` respectively.
  4. Delete any existing save and backup files on the server save location. `enshrouded-server/game/server/savegame` for the docker image I'm using.
  5. Copy `3ad85aea` and `3ad85aea_info` to the server save directory.
  6. Turn on the server
This [github.com] is the server I'm using. Running in docker on ubuntu server 22.04

I tried those files first and they only had data from our first play session. The last modified dates were also from that first day. So really, you should use whichever files have the latest last modified date and rename them to `3ad85aea`.

I did this exact thing and all it did was transfer my character. It did not transfer my world. I am testing some things though and will let everyone know if I figure something out.

Following this tip I managed to move all our world from our friend's game to a private server. We just moved the files '3ad85aea' and '3ad85aea_info' to the folder '/home/steam/enshrouded/savegame'. I'm using this image with tag proton-latest btw which works perfectly fine https://github.com/jsknnr/enshrouded-server
