I tried erasing, rennaming etc nothing seems to work.
Copy the 3ad85aea and 3ad85aea_info to the savegame folder in the server. You will find the same one in there. Just make sure its not running.
The problem of doing this is that you are not exporting any WORLD save files, you are only exporting your CHARACTER and PROGRESS save files. When you login into the server with these files you have a new WORLD with the old CHARACTER and PROGRESS (this includes only inventory and map markers). The whole world fresh while your map (when you click M) still has all your progress only MARKED but everything is reset to default.
I did this, it works like I quoted, the character comes, the world doesn't.
I hosted my game and renamed it the same as the game on the server. I sat same amount of people and same password.
Be careful these files have the same name
Stop the server, make sure it is stopped. On your server in /savegames/ copy the files 3ad85aea and 3ad85aea.backup to a new folder onto your harddrive, make sure you do not overwrite those files with the same name on your PC. Now delete them from your server. Make a copy of the files in In your Steam folder C: \Steam\userdata\"steamid"\1203620\remote. Find the file: 3ad85aea in the folder copy this file to your server. Restart the server
You might have to verify the game files on the server and restart the server a couple of times.
I tried a suggestion like yours first and it didin't work. It is odd how there is not one solution for it
I did this exact thing and all it did was transfer my character. It did not transfer my world. I am testing some things though and will let everyone know if I figure something out.
Following this tip I managed to move all our world from our friend's game to a private server. We just moved the files '3ad85aea' and '3ad85aea_info' to the folder '/home/steam/enshrouded/savegame'. I'm using this image with tag proton-latest btw which works perfectly fine https://github.com/jsknnr/enshrouded-server
