Building materials

Is it just me who is slightly annoyed by the need to convert basic resources into "building materials"? Like why not just do what every other sandbox game does - use the raw resources for building straight up.

Also the inability to stack these building materials in a chest those materials can be pulled out from while building is definitely an oversight. These chests do share the resources while crafting on the workbench which is great but we definitely need the ability for the building materials to be used from the chests without the need to have them in our inventory.

There are chest upgrades that let you pull directly into crafting but locked into progression, got mine like 16 hrs in. Also doesnt work on kilns so still have to put them in specific factories...although maybe theres a progression lock on those too later on.

Yeah, i got to those as i mentioned in my post. The problem is that the materials for construction and terraforming can't be pulled by the building hammer from these chests.

I believe you find a carpenter at some point and he allows you to pull resources.

Doesn't work like that with building materials as i stated above.
