it's a much more dense game. lots of stuff to do. plenty of exploration. if the first paragraph didn't scare you off or even got you interested then yeah buy conan exiles.
you may want to check out the workshop for chapter 3 combat fix if you do since the devs decided keyboard and mouse players are cheating somehoe and made our characters look like idiots
The only real fault I can find with Conan Exiles is that it lacks the mechanic that connects the player so strongly to the dino tames in Ark.
But all the little annoyances that need addressing in Ark just do not exist in Conan. They got the details correct right out of the gate.
You can't not really compare a game who is live for years with tons of DLC to a game, which is 2 days in a EARLY ACCESS phase? ;)
the world is static in both games
you can complete conan and escape. leading you to a finished game(will need to start anew). you can't complete enshrouded yet.
crafting and building is quite similar. but in enshrouded basebuilding lead no purpose. in conan you have to protect your base cuz there are raids on your base (they'll destroy structures and kill your slaves)
in conan you can use mounts, slaves(to fight for you), swim underwater and climb cliffs. in enshrouded you can't.
dungeons in conan are more diverse and unique...but once you know how to do them they are pretty boring. just skip everything to boss area and kill it. ignore the rest.
(also dlc in conan are useless and mostly cosmetic except island)
everything else is cosmetics with some added stuff which is not required to play the game.
on the other hand conan has mods. tons of them and some are quite good and expand the game a lot
Knock it off.
Well he/she can if he/she is talking about the the core game-play however comparing bugs, QoL, performance and content is a little unfair taking into account each the length of time each game has been released.
I quit a couple of months ago when they decided to add a BATTLE PASS to a years-old open world survival game. The only thing keeping Conan alive is it's huge modding and RP community. The game is plagued with bugs that have been around for years, but the dev team is priority working their next project (hence the battle pass funding).
I'm sincerely hoping the Enshrouded devs give the green light to steam workshop modding. If they do, I see that pulling the vast majority of Conan players away to this game.
I had fun in Conan for a long time, but it was because of mods and friends. Not because of the core game. Enshrouded has been way more fun for me so far as a vanilla game.
Funcom, Conan Exiles' developer, with passion fights against its modding community and lets in game-breaking bugs (disappearing Crom Coins, server-wide Thrall disappearances). It could be a great game really, with splendidly coded stuffs, but it's the people who are developing and playing the game that are the true problem.
Cherish new things we get. Give Enshrouded a good chance.
