How heavy does this game rely on building and crafting?

I am more of an ARPG guy and don't want to spend all my time building and crafting stuff. What is the proportion of building & crafting vs combat & story?

Less building and crafting tedious garbage like in other survival/open world games. But yes their is building and it's amazingly fun. All the fun aspects of it are there.

the building is not mandatory outside of the first base you need just to store your crafting. The crafting is middle of the road as far as game focus, you need to craft things, but you dont have to do it like Satisfactory or anything, its not a factory sim. There is also limited story right now. Its mostly free roam combat and exploration.

At minimum you need to build some tool tables and a roof for NPC's. However, building quality stuff ups your rest bonus while in the comfort of your base and resting.

I have hard time getting into craft heavy games as well but this game is really fun. It isn't painful grinding for mats and BS placement. I am by no means a base builder and I found myself just building a house today for fun. It's a good time.
