Mortar for the Alchemist?

I have options to craft things but it says I need the Mortar, where do you craft it? I've checked all my crafting stations but I dont see an option.

Yeah the pattern I'm seeing is each NPC has a quest line to look for a specific item to "unlock" further crafting possibilities.

As you upgrade your altar and progress you will continue to get quests from NPCs to find them different tools and what not that will allow you to craft more things. Also finding certain resources/items will unlock recipes as well.

As you get quest the area will be marked on your map

I have found the Alchemist's Mortar, but the quest says I have not. The quest will not advance. It says I have not even found the button to push. Any advice please? Or I may have to start over to cure this bug.

@Redjac Did you find the mortar before you were given the quest to do so? Just out exploring. Sometimes that may cause and issue and require you to go back and pick it up again after you have been given the quest.
