Fell down a pretty steep cliff

I was enjoying "surfing" down. But suddenly I died. My stuff dropped in the middle of the cliff. Anyway to reach it or is all that stuff gone for good?

Just burrow a tunnel through the cliff or across it so you can reach your corpse marker.

I've died a few times and my stuff has always been accessible. But as others have said you can always break out the trusty pick and get to it.
As to skiing down the hill, to do it right you need to end up in a red shroud for bonus points.
