Shroud Protection Potion Not Working

Either im doing it wrong or there is something wrong with the shroud potions. I am in the shroud, the timer says caution so i pull out a shroud protection potion and down it, and nothing happens. The timer remains at the same time and my potion is used up. According to FAQs, shroud potions are supposed to restore time to the timer. But they are not.

I think you have to drink it before entering the shroud.

You have to drink the potions before going into the shroud, then you get the benefit. If you drink one, exit to an unshrouded area, then you'll gain the +2 mins from the potion.

2 more minutes of maximum time, not current time. The max 2 minute buff then lasts for 45 minutes.
