[SOLVED] How to unlock the rake...

At the start of the game I could craft a rake (and a shovel, I think?), but for some reason it's completely disappeared from crafting options? It doesn't show in workbench or in the blacksmith anymore...

It seems that once I'd unlocked "scrappy" stuff, i.e. sword, axe and pickaxe the option to craft those two just vanished.

Is this a bug...?

After you find the npc you will get the recipe, after you get it you can craft the rake with the proper materials and then...

It's a bug for me and for many people the rake simply isn't craftable. I'm level 14, got all crafters in my base, there is no rake recipe in my workbench.

Can confirm. Regardless of how many NPCs I've unlocked, or level I reach, the items are just gone. So it seems I'm completely "locked out" of ever experiencing the Rake. Sad times.

I even started a new Character and put them into the same world, and it's still locked out. So once it's gone from the world, it's gone for good.

If you didn't make the rake before you got the scrappy rake recipe, you cannot make one. It needs a new world, and then you have to make a rake, take it to the old world and then you can make a scrappy one. Pain in the butt.

WHat's required to make the first basic rake without getting the scrappy one ? Is it a level requirement ? I got the balcksmith in my base in a new world with a new character and I can't craft the rake yet but I also don't want to accidentally unlock the scrappy rake.

I managed to unlock the rake by placing a new flame altar and a new workbench on a new spot away from my main base and the rake was in the crafting menu.

I tried the workaround with a new character in the same world but that didn't worked for me. I then deleted the new character and went back in with my old one and all of the sudden I had the recipe back, so maybe try this!

Once I built my second flame altar it didn't show up right away. Then I quit to main menu and reloaded, then it showed up in the workbench under survival. Didn't have to make a second character.

I tried a new character, went to the old world, no rake recipe on the workbench. I built another new character, went to a new, unplayed world, no rake. Then, after logging out and back in, I went back to my original character and world, figured I'd try WillieX' advice.

And lo and behold, the rake recipe now showed, on my original workbench, in my original world, with my original character. This game generally feels very polished, so it really brings me up short when I hit rough spots like this.

None of the above worked for me, however, I did manage to force the rake back to life by simply "Verifying Game Integrity" in Steam. No idea why this worked, but it does.

As a side note, I did this before level 5 so I'm not sure if it'll work after that point.

It's also worth pointing out that although I've managed to get the basic rake, you're supposed to unlock the "Scrappy Rake" at level 5, however, that didn't happen. So I'm stuck with the basic one for now, but it'll do the job!
