They have this already in the game within the Altar zone, nothing respawns or resets. So the functionality is there but I think limiting this to just within Altar range is by design, not a bug to fix. If this is the case I would ask the devs to at least provide us a way to turn this on or off, as long as performance isn't massively impacted of course and it might be given the view distance in this game.
This was always one of my biggest gripes of Valheim. Needing a sub world to farm some stuff occasionally. That and having to use a sub world to bypass the stupid portal restrictions.
Valheim was bad in terms of some recources i give u that but doing the complete opposite is also bad. There is no value in anything if everything always respawns.
There is a middle ground for this. I dont want all my world progress to be whiped everytime i close the game but i also dont want to run out of things. The map is big enough to put in enough recources for 3x playthroughs. No need for every smashed box to respawn absolutely kills my motivation right now.
Give us settings so we can tweak it the way we want it to play. Some like having everything endless for free some like to work for stuff and go out and grind recources. Just let people decide how they wanna play the game u will never do it right for everyone its just not possible.
Voted. Optional or customizable for everyone (specially SP) is the way to go imo so +1
Naw not everyone, there are some of us that truly want to fund the progression of the genre in many regards. We see a promising effort come through EA, and we decide to fund it because if it reaches funding, logic would tell you that it will be worked on to completion as is normally the initial agreement between developer and backer.
My relationship with Steam for the last 20 years (yes 20, I played Counter Strike 1.6 on the original Steam client) has been almost a majority of early Access titles (at least from 2010 and on) and to be honest, its been rewarding. Most of the games I choose end up being passion projects that, while yes seem to take forever and sort of bend the rules of what an "early access" title even is, they are still clearly some of the best labor of love projects from devs that just want to make good solid games and arent interested in monetizing and farming peoples wallets.
Some of those include:
- 7 Days to Die (I know, this one is good and bad, but one of the originals)
- Rust (A pure triumph and shining example of a caring team)
- Project Zomboid (Also a Steam legend and currently being almost entirely re-coded)
- Astroneer (A lovely space colony sim that is still getting roadmap updates)
- Oxygen Not Included (Many years in EA, but the sheer amount of systems is insane)
Those are some of the more successful ones, but point being, most of those games have been getting regular updates and if not, at least frequent blog posts and small feature additions. I think EA is great when its not manipulated by a grouchy playerbase and when its handled by competent developers who can manage the interactions.
