Mist/smoke inside building
I was building my house in the area where the game tells you to build and I put in two fire places. Not sure if i didn't notice at first but I thought "hang on there is a lot of mist in my house" and my thoughts jumped straight to Valhielm where if you don't have a chimney then the smoke has nowhere to go, so of course I build two chimneys but there is still way too much smoke or mist in my house.

Removing what i thought caused the smoke/mist didn't work. So does fire places just cause smoke no matter what, as in it just goes through walls. Or is it the game outside mist that just goes through walls ? or both.

Oh I also noticed that when I built a chimney there was no smoke coming out the top, so I'm guessing it's not programmed in to go up a chimney and that's why it just goes through our walls and sits there. Or it's just the mist from outside that does the same. I'm not sure at the moment and wondered what you lovely peeps think on this matter, unless it's just me or I'm doing something wrong.

Yeah I am wondering the same thing. Would like to not have the house full of mist/smoke.

I also thought of Valheim. I actually removed all sources of fire and the hazy mist was still in my house. I did have the altar inside my house. I ended up closing it off with some walls around it and it helped some. Only very little mist was left in my building.

This is honestly a bit annoying.

in my case, it freaking is annoying, has nothing to do with torches or flames
i just redone the roof so it got open for a while, fog was still there even when the roof was open, i think i seen that before the demo, like gameplay trailer

it's also on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Enshrouded/comments/19f9y10/fog_inside_home_is_there_anyway_to_get_rid_of_it/

it's annoying that it generate like that in player made constructions

i'll try diff build and see if it still generates or if it's still visible

(double walls, double + spaced walls, double roofs, underground build etc)

I built walls around the altar too, didn't make any difference. I also noticed it wasn't the fire places either. I think it's just the game fog/mist.

Let us know how that goes if you do. Would be interesting. I got the feeling it's, just as I said above in the other post, the fog/mist. probably not programmed to go away when building I'm guessing.

well, i just finished my session then read the comment, i'll post the result tomorow for underground builds, double roof etc

tho what i did do

square buildings, still get a lil fog
triangle roof well lit and less lit

all i could see is that
light reduces the fog effect, tho in my case , i also made a floor right under a roof
i still have the effect

as it also can appear underground, i can assume it just spawns on everysingle block, even player created and with little to no boundaries (being light, space, surroundings etc)

I'm wondering if its cause of the wood since it doesn't cover every particle and most likely the sun's trying to shine in maybe?

nah, can happen with any blocks, wood and non-wood

i used three kinds of roofs (materials) all had the effect,
then used diff blocks for floors and roofs
it still happended

the fog even appeared on the second floor of my building, which got visible from the 1st floor

Oh wow that is odd

yup
i think the prob is just how the fog is generated and where/under what settings (not talking about graphical settings)

devs cannot make the fog appear with a "sky ray" as a checker as the fog still has to render in buildings found in the world etc

for now all i could find is placing lights as it reduces the effect, maybe trying beams to hide the fog a bit (did that with my second construct) fog was still here but it got less disturbing thanks to the beams

i just hope they'll release a lil fix for that as it can get distracting and or making construction look a bit ... off from the inside

I'm thinking it's just particle effects bleeding through. I wonder if a double wall would keep it out?

it is the volumetric fog bleeding out (volumetric particule)
a double , in theory would work

taking a nap then testing that
tho the problem is not really for walls, but for roofs and ceiling/floors
that would mean double floors/ceil, or double roof

anyway testing that in a few hours

For now, since it seems unclear if it's intentional or something they'll be addressing in the future, I'm just considering the fog/mist inside to be part of the world. A land where fog and mist are always present due to the Shroud. That at least makes it less annoying for me. Still weird seeing it inside, tho.
