The average desktop computer mouse is a precision aiming/facing tool compared to joysticks. It is effortless to adjust position or heading anywhere rapidly and precisely with one. It is the foundation of decades of competitive gaming feats ranging from Starcraft to Counterstrike to ARMA. It works. It does the job with aplomb. It is a solved problem.
So when a game decides to ignore inputs from your precisely-aimed mouse and go off in a random direction instead, that game has a big problem. Basically all you can do with melee weapons right now is point in a direction and hit the attack button. Except, no, autoaim means the direction you point in doesn't matter. So all you get to do is hit the attack button.
Melee with autoaim is a QTE.
Inside of one week the console plebs are whining because they are getting tooled every way. This game is no different as many games do they try to pander to both markets both console and pc all the while making it a night mare for pc player. Then in turn the game fails goes off steam and panders exclusively to the console market.
How many times have we seen this? to many! and like leftists they never learn and fail miserably. I too know the pain of dealing with auto target only for it to lock on to everything BUT THE TARGET YOU WANT. This game will most likely fail on pc because of the pandering to a inferior product the console.
In melee, I think the autoaim/distance closing was an Arkham Asylum thing first.
This works for bows and staves. Wands will always auto-aim, even when zooming in with M2. It's a mess. I just want to turn it off.
