Very poor
It was funny to see myself lagging backwards and such.
The fix for me at the time was my partner disconnected from the game. I stopped teleporting immediately. They rejoined and another player joined for a total of 3. From this point on for 5 hours it was smooth.
This was after hot fix 1. Not had the opportunity to play since, so can't say anything for hotfix 3+
This wasn't local network either. UK to two central European countries.
Someone I (would like to) play with has a PC that just meets the minimum requirements. Every other online game we play together is fine, yet Enshrouded has a truly unplayable amount of latency (~350ms) no matter who hosts. Other players who live even further have <1/3 the lag.
My working theory is that there is some problem with the netcode that causes it to all but fall apart with inadequate processing power, even if the game runs alright solo.
Tried to change the steam download region and steam networking and neither helps.
Did you make your lobby smaller? It does say when creating a bigger lobby can cause lag issues. If you're only playing with 2, I think the smallest lobby is like 3 players.
NO mention of this problem from the devs.
Are they completely UNABLE to fix it ?
Disappointing.
