You need to OWN the game to make a server lol
tried to make a server on my linux machine and it asks for me to buy the game to make a server because its bundled with the game lmao, never seen this before. a really odd choice.

Thirdly: Even if it was the case there are plenty games out that need to sign in with a account that bought the game-

Pretty sure you can make server with steamcmd, I did without needing to sign in with account to verify

It supports steamcmd and anonymous login. Not yet supported on linux, though.

You can use wine to host on linux, I am using Pterodactyl to host my server

well just tried hosting on linux with wine and it didnt work, we need linux server support ASAP
