Why limit dedicated server to owners only?

I will buy the game and own it but when I go to set up a dedicated server on my Linux VM I now have to jump through a ton of hoops and can't just install it using steamcmd and anon login.
Seems like a good way to shoot yourself in the foot by limiting fun for your playerbase.
More servers = more players = more people buying the game.

Trying to make money by selling 3rd party cloud hosts is fine for people that don't know how to set up a server but why penalize the people that do know how to do it?

They commented that we would be able to do that at some future point. I also run servers out of my house for many games I and my friends play but this happens at the start of new games often. I purchased a server for now and will install run my own when it becomes available.
