Unable to join a friend's hosted game

Hey there,

Friends are currently playing together in one of their hosted worlds, but whenever they invite me, after clicking join session/entering password. The starting cutscene plays for 3 seconds then I am immediately hit with a "failed to join game session" error, which sends me back to the menu.

Thinking it was a failed communication situation, I tried hosting a game to which I am immediately met with the same "failed to join game session" error.

Are all the ports properly opened and firewall open? Is usually when this happens for my servers. It's one of these two issues

I don't think I need open any ports on my end, but to touch on that I'm assuming a lot of invite play is being all conducted via steam. I think this because my brother was able to join our friend easily, but I'm the only one that kept getting that error.

So far this is the only game so far that has given us an issue like this. I haven't changed my firewall settings, but that aspect has never been an issue in any game before. I see that there was an update that was implemented recently, so hopefully when my friend wakes up later he can update and we'll see if that fixes things.

Having the same issue not being able to job will go through the cut see, but I'm hit with a never ending loading screen and will never load in, but I can play in my own world

Make sure both are online... not away, or invisible lmao. and try to invite them through steam with shift-tab in-game.
