Multiplayer and loot

My friends that I play games with have a great deal more gaming time than I do. For every 10hrs they play, I only have maybe an hour. My question is, will all the chests/loot be taken and gone for good while I am away from game, or do the chests/loot respawn after a given time?

Maybe just ask your friends to save you some of the loot they find and put it in a special chest for you so you can pick and choose what you wanna keep? Played with my brother-in-law last night and it's also real easy to pass items from one player to the next.

Chests seem to only allow one person to loot them. In our game we were swapping gear and building different. Ranger/Warrior/Mage etc. However, even so there was enough swords and gear to share that we could gear independently the way we liked. We also noticed that some mobs dropped rare items that were found in chests.
